Oh one year anniversary, what a blast :)

Romeo&Juliet: Act 4

  • Jan. 31st, 2010 at 11:28 AM

Serena breezed out of her brother’s room and went straight to her desk. She grabbed a sheet of paper and a fountain pen. The blonde sat down, bent over the blank page as she pondered what to write for her love. She tapped her pen, impatient for the words to come. It was important to her that the letter conveyed the true depths of her feelings for the girl. Despite having just met her, she had already fallen head over heels in love. Serena’s flawless face turned into a grimace when her phone unexpectedly rang, breaking her concentration. She glanced at the caller ID and saw it was Nate. She could imagine him berating her for her vanishing act last night. Serena opted to ignore the call and focused on writing her letter.

The lovesick blonde was getting into the flow of the note when her phone rang again. Nate was calling her a second time. Serena began to sense a pattern and decided it was best to just turn the device off so that she could be left to her thoughts. She had to get the letter done before nine after all.

Nate was not a happy camper. He had been woken up, much too early considering last night’s revelry, by a call from Lily Van der Woodsen, who was wondering where her daughter was. Apparently, Serena had not made it to bed last night. God only knew what kind of trouble she had gotten into when she went back up to the Waldorf penthouse. For all Nate knew, Serena was in a jail cell for trespassing or underage drinking. Eleanor had a cruel sense of justice. However, he smoothly lied to the older woman, saying that Serena was sound asleep in one of his guest bedrooms. Lily had accepted his response and passed along a message to tell her daughter she was going to the office.

So now Nate was assigned the task of tracking down his flighty best friend before she got in too deep. With Lily safely at work, it bought him some time but that would only last for so long. Calling Serena repeatedly had done a whole lot of nothing and Nate now found himself traveling to the Van der Woodsen apartment extremely tired and hung over at 8:30 in the morning. The sandy haired boy adjusted his Ray Ban sunglasses that kept the blaring morning light out of his sensitive eyes. He drank his Starbucks like it was his lifeline, relying on the soothing caffeine to get through the day. Nate decided to call Dan to see if he had heard anything from his stepsister.

“What?” Dan greeted Nate groggily over the phone. He had clearly been asleep.

“Did Serena come home last night?” Nate asked as his driver pulled up to the building.

“What? I don’t know.” Dan was annoyed that he was being bothered about this.

“Lily called me and said she was not there.” Nate walked across the lobby and got into the waiting elevator.

“So? She rarely comes home. Why do you care?” Dan enquired. Serena often found some infatuated girl that would take her home. The blonde was always a gentleman though. She would not sneak out in the middle of the night and never call them. She would stay the night, take them out to breakfast and then never call them.

“Because of where we left her, Daniel.” Nate pressed the issue, trying to give the sluggish boy a sense of urgency.

“Right…” Dan responded in realization as he trailed off, thinking of what kind of peril Serena had gotten herself into. Nate could hear him sitting up and getting out of his bed.

“Thank you for getting on board. Now come answer the door, I am here.” Nate snapped his phone shut and waited a moment before Dan appeared, his hair was bigger than usual and he only wore a pair of stripped pyjama bottoms.

“So where do we start?” Dan speculated. He was not accustomed to having to find his stepsister. Nate, on the other hand, was often pulling Serena out of sticky situations.

“Well, I tried to call her phone but she did not pick up. She is probably still moping about for Rosaline. This girl is driving her mad.” Nate began to pace around the room. Where to find a giant, pining blonde?

“Hey guys, what’s up?” Serena popped out of her room when she heard the door. The blonde had finally changed out of last night’s costume and wore a simple white tee shirt and dark wash skinny jeans. She thought that perhaps Dorota was early but she was disappointed to find Dan and Nate standing in the foyer.

“Hey that was easy.” Dan smiled at the sight of Serena. Now he could go back to bed. Nate on the other hand was not as happy. In fact, he was irritated with his best friend as she stood there like it was the most casual thing in the world. Though he was glad to see that she was not in any immediate danger.

“Serena, good morning.” Nate rubbed his brow and shook his head. Serena sensed his aggravation but nothing could deflate her mood.

“Morning.” Serena smiled sheepishly.

“Do you have anything to say for yourself?” Nate asked. He crossed his arms and looked at her in a pointed manner.

“What do you mean?” Serena put her hands behind her back and put on her best innocent act. Nate only scoffed knowing that Serena was anything but innocent.

“You know what. Last night when you gave us the slip, where did you go?” Nate pushed her for an answer.

“Come on Nate, I am sorry. I had very important business to attend to.” Serena said, as her face lit up with a secret.

“Oh? And was this business Rosaline?” Nate wondered, thinking she had finally been able to bed the reluctant young woman.

“Not quite. But consider my love satisfied.” Serena stated vaguely.

“So who was doing the satisfying?” Dan asked mischievously, as he alluded to a perceived sexual conquest.

“A lady doth not kiss and tell.” Serena remained elusive.

“Ha, since when? Now let’s go get breakfast.” Nate said as he went to leave, expecting Serena to follow him. He could scarcely stay mad at his charming friend and wanted to hear of her last night’s endeavours. He opened the door and was startled to find a stout woman there, wearing ridiculously large sunglasses and a trench coat.

“Um, can I help you ma’am?” Nate asked, stifling a giggle. Dorota looked rather ridiculous as she stood there, completely straight faced. Dan covered his own growing smile with his hand.

“I need to speak to you, in private.” Dorota spoke in her thick accent and pointed to Serena, who was looking very pleased to see the plump woman.

“Of course. This way.” Serena said and the maid entered the Van der Woodsen apartment with a haughty air as she breezed by the two boys. Nate was shocked that Serena was taking the time of day to see this preposterous woman. He expected his friend to laugh her out of the building, not invite her into the house. Though she did look vaguely familiar. Where had he seen her before?

“Serena!” Nate called after the blonde’s retreating form. Serena turned around and looked at him, expectantly waiting for him to continue speaking.

“I thought we were going to breakfast.” He finished lamely.

“I will meet up with you later Nate.” Serena said dismissively as she continued to lead the mystery woman away.

“Serena- ” Nate began incredulously.

“Later, Nate.” Serena said over her shoulder as she and her guest disappeared down the hall. Nate looked on in disbelief for a moment as he tried to piece together why Serena had bailed on him, yet again.

“Well I am going back to bed.” Dan scratched his head and drifted off in the direction of his bedroom. Nate glowered a moment more before he left the Van der Woodsen residence to go and sulk.

Serena brought Dorota to her bedroom so that they could speak in privacy. She eagerly turned around to look at Blair’s maid and was surprised to find her standing in very close proximity to her.

“You.” Dorota punctuated the word with a sharp poke to the blonde’s chest. “You best not be leading Miss Blair into a fool’s paradise. She is hardly experienced in dating and you shall treat her like the lady she is.”

“Of course-” Serena tried to interject but was cut her off.

“And furthermore, I have been with the Waldorfs since Miss Blair was only four years old and if you break her heart, I will break you.” The Polish woman gave Serena a hard look. As Dorota had watched Blair grow up, she grew to love the girl as a daughter. Serena could only stand there for a moment, fearing that the brutish woman was going to attack her before she gained the courage to speak again.

“I will never break her heart. To do so would break mine.” Serena vowed, slowly and clearly. She braced herself for the maid to start berating her once again.

“Good. You have a good heart. Now what do you have to tell the lady?” Dorota nodded, surprisingly not abrasive. Serena smiled and relaxed. The lanky girl felt as though she had passed some kind of test, having braved the once angry woman. She seemed fiercely protective of the little brunette that had stolen her heart, which she did not mind in the least. Serena was glad that Blair had someone to look after her as she grew up.

“Is Blair free this evening?” Serena asked excitedly

“Yes, her mother flew away on business.” Dorota informed the blonde.

“Then please tell Blair to be ready at 7. I will be in front of her building in a black limousine.” Serena said. She could barely contain her excited smile as she thought of the date she had in store for the brunette.

“She will be there.” Dorota smiled back at the blonde as the two conspired together.

“Oh and give her this letter for me.” Serena said as she took the paper off her desk and slipped it into an envelope. Dorota tucked the paper letter into her trench coat and nodded.

“There is one thing I must warn you about.” Dorota leaned forward and her voice adopted a grave tone. “Another vies for the affection of Miss Blair’s heart. Jack Bass seeks her hand in marriage, however she would sooner look at a toad than him. She only speaks of seeing you again though so you should not think him a rival.”

“Yes, thank you. Now go send my love to Blair.” Serena begged the kind maid.

“Yes, of course.” Dorota scurried out of the room, leaving the blonde alone once more to wait for the evening to come.

Blair impatiently lounged on the sofa in her well-furnished living room. Twirling the new ring on her finger, she sighed in frustration. She has sent Dorota out nearly two hours ago to retrieve word from Serena. The brunette had been waiting in the same spot for most of the morning. To the household staff it appeared as if the young Waldorf was simple enjoying the warm sunlight radiating through the gauzy curtains that covered the large windows but in actuality Blair had a perfect view of through the foyer to the elevator, on which her eyes were trained. Blair regretted sending her rotund maid, sending a bike messenger would have been much quicker. She loved that crazy Polish woman but she was slower than molasses in January.

At that moment, Blair heard the light ping of the elevator signifying its arrival to the top. The doors seemed to slide open slower than before as they revealed Dorota returning to the penthouse. Blair stood up like a shot, bouncing over to the maid to hear what news she brought.

“Dorota, did you find Serena? Have you spoken with her? What did she say? Blair asked in rapid succession.

“I just got back, let me sit a minute.” Dorota calmly ignored the tense teenager hovering around her as she waddled into the living room to take a seat on one of the plush armchairs. Blair was right on her heels, persistent

“Please Dorota. Sweet, sweet Dorota, tell me the news. Your sour face is making me anxious.” Blair feared that her maid came bearing bad information, that her blonde sweetheart had gained her senses in the night.

“Let me rest, my bones ache and I am out of breath having run about the town all morning.” Dorota complained as she continued to avoid Blair’s questions.

“How can you be out of breath, when you have breath to tell me you are out of breath?” Blair threw her hands up in frustration and flopped back down on the sofa.

“My god you are impatient! Can’t you see I am in pain?” the Polish woman said melodramatically.

“I am sorry to hear that. I shall call the masseur this afternoon for you. Now will you at least tell me if the news is good or bad?” Blair was getting desperate.

“Well, you have picked the foolish choice. Not to say that your Serena is not equal to you in beauty. Indeed you two make the loveliest pair I have ever seen. And she is so kind and gentle. But you would have done well to find a nice man not influenced by this heinous grudge to settle down with. However, one cannot control the working of the heart. You simply blindly follow.” Dorota lectured Blair, who was staring at her with reproach. She just wanted to hear what Serena had said.

“I know all of this. Now what did Serena say?” she asked tartly.

“You are free this evening?” Dorota asked.

“Yes.” Blair nodded and leaned forward; her eyes alight with new hope.

“Then be ready by 7 tonight and Serena will be waiting outside of the building for you in a black limousine.” Dorota smiled as she watched Blair erupt with happiness. The petite girl rushed to her maid and tightly hugged her in joy. The older woman heard the crunching of paper in her breast pocket as Blair squeezed her, reminding her of the letter that Serena had given her.

“Oh and she sent this note.” Dorota said as Blair pulled away. As soon as the letter was in view, Blair snatched it out of her maid’s hand, quickly tearing open the envelope to get the contents inside. Blair eagerly read the loopy scrawl on the cream stationary she held in her trembling hands.

B,

The world has seemingly stopped since we have departed. As if everything is hanging on to see you again so that we can go on living. I feel suspended in a strange limbo like nothing is real unless you are with me. Despite having just met you, I cannot imagine a world in which you do not exist. I now know it was you, my darling, that I have so desperately been searching for.

My love for you knows no bounds. I will go to the ends of the Earth to be with you. I know that we have chosen a difficult road but our love will help us soar over the strife. I believe in us. I hope you believe in us, too.

Every moment, I pray to see your beautiful face again, to caress your soft skin, to hold your gentle weight in my arms and never let go. You have stolen my heart, you have saved me from my loneliness, and you have completed me. And for that I am forever in your debt. I will spend the rest of my life repaying you if you will let me.

I leave you with my love and promise to soon be reunited. I miss you. I love you.

-S

Blair felt light as a feather as she finished reading of Serena’s devotion. Her eyes brimmed with tears of happiness. Dorota watched on contentedly, pleased to see Blair so ecstatic.

“Thank you, Dorota!” Blair exclaimed, hugging the woman one more time before she turned around to hurry off and pick out an outfit for her date tonight. After all, everything had to be perfect.

“You’re welcome.” Dorota called out to the rapidly disappearing brunette. “And don’t forget my massage!”

Romeo&Juliet: Act 3

  • Jan. 18th, 2010 at 11:03 AM

Serena was in the last group of visitors to ride down the elevator. Nate and Dan were talking animatedly about how awesome their nights had been but the blonde remained quiet, a certain brunette pervaded her thoughts. She finally knew what she had been searching for all this time. Her promiscuous behavior was only her blindly looking for her love that had yet to be revealed to her. Serena knew with all her heart that Blair was the only person she could love. The elevator reached the bottom and everyone exited excepted for the lovesick blonde.

“Serena, let’s go.” Nate called to her but a plan was quickly forming in Serena’s head. She did not reply and remained in the elevator.

“Come on, I know that Rosaline is going to a club. We can find her there.” Nate tried to tempt her out of the box but all thoughts of the girl had escaped Serena. The thought of the girl that had once held her heart or any other girl turned her stomach. She needed to see Blair again.

“Go without me.” Serena said as the elevator door closed. They knew nothing about the depths of her love.

“Serena wait! You can’t-” Nate rushed forward to try and catch the daring blonde but he was cut off as the elevator began to rise upward into the heaven, where her angel resided. Once at the top, Serena cautiously stepped out into the foyer, wary of any people lingering about. The room was empty though as her boots clicked against the marble floor. The sound was amplified by the strange silence in the previously crowded room. Then she heard footsteps approaching. Panicking, she looked around wildly for an escape. To her right, large glass doors led to what appeared to be a balcony. Serena darted over and slipped out into the night in order to avoid being seen. She breathed a sigh of relief as she watched a butler walk through the hall and then disappear to another part of the house.

She turned around to realize that the balcony was actually a pool area. The water was lit and gave off an aqua glow. Light reflected off the water and shimmered on the gray stonewalls. Near the doors was an ivied trellis that led to a small balcony. She could hear the nightlife of New York down below. A light flicked on in the room but she could not see into it because gauzy pink curtains obscured her view. She could see and indistinct shadow that she assumed to be Blair. Serena started to climb the trellis in attempts to get a better view. Silently, she willed the figure to open the drapes so that she may look upon Blair’s glowing face. The blonde wanted more than anything for her love to cast her shining light upon her face so that she may gaze at her beauty. However, Serena was severely disappointed when the curtains were drawn, showing not Blair but her stout maid. She withdrew, repulsed and disheartened at Blair’s nonappearance. Serena froze when she heard a noise, a door opening, but soon her heart soared as Blair passed by her, not noticing the girl clinging to the wall.

“Serena, why Serena Van der Woodsen?” Blair asked herself sadly as she talked to herself out on the veranda. She wandered near the edge of the pool and continued to speak while Serena attentively listened to her. “Should I scorn my mother and abandon my name? Of all the people for me to fall for it had to be you. You who could go by any other name and would still be so sweet. And yet you are my enemy, but I would love you if you would take me.”

The brunette was conflicted. On one hand she had to show allegiance to her mother but on the hand she had just shared a magically moment with a complete stranger. Blair could not ignore those feelings. Serena had slowly been approaching the petite brunette and decided it was a good time to announce her presence. She said into the other girl’s ear, “Then I will take you.”

“Ahh!” Blair screamed as she spun around, startled to find herself not alone. The brunette lost her balance as she turned. Serena tried to grab her waist to steady her but she had too much momentum. Both Blair and Serena fell, ending up in the pool with a splash. They surfaced panting and Blair saw who had scared her.

“Aren’t you Serena? And a Van der Woodsen?” Blair asked surprised and confused to the sight of the blonde.

“Neither if they displease you.” Serena said.

“But how did you get up here? I saw you leave.” Blair wondered at her companion.

“I just rode back up the elevator. I had to see you.” Serena explained.

“But our parents, they despise each other. If my mother found you here she would kill you and then send me to a convent.” Blair exaggerated slightly, looking frightened at the thought of being caught.

“I would rather stay here, have you love me and maybe get caught than be sent away without your love.” Serena hushed the petite girl as she advanced. Blair was suddenly in the arms of the blonde, their lips hovering millimeters apart. Stormy blue eyes peered into her gentle brown ones as the distance quickly disappeared. This kiss held much more passion then the gentle awe of before. The soaked girls held onto each other as they tried to forget the quandary looming above them.

“Serena, I need to know if you love me.” Blair pulled back abruptly ending their kissing as looked expectantly at her blonde suitor. While she had never seen the Van der Woodsen until tonight she had heard tales of her exploits. Blair did not want to be just another notch on Serena’s headboard.

“Oh Blair, I swear on the moon that- ” Serena began to proclaim but Blair shook her head, her wet locks sticking to her pale cheek.

“No, don’t swear on the moon. It waxes and wanes. It is too inconsistent to swear on.” Blair walk backward away from Serena trying to get distance between them so that she could think more clearly.

“Then what should I swear on?” Serena laughed lightly following the brunette. She would follow this girl to the ends of the earth.

“I don’t know. Swear… on yourself because it is you that I value the most.” Blair looked up at the taller girl, her eyes brimming with love asking for it to be returned.

“Oh my sweet love.” Serena whispered in reverence. She captured Blair’s lips in her own once more. Her brunette tasted of strawberries and lightly of chlorine from the water that wet their lips. Shapely legs hooked around her slender hips and the blonde’s hands moved to stroke creamy thighs, pulling Blair even closer. Serena backed Blair into the wall and began to place trails of kisses along the column of her neck. The brunette moaned with pleasure and with super human ability forced herself to leave the capable arms of Serena Van der Woodsen.

“I wish I could delight in your presence but tonight… Serena this happened so fast. We are rushing into this. It is like lightning here in a flash and then gone in an instant.” Blair looked away sadly as she moved toward the metal ladder in an effort to escape the persistent blonde.

“No, it is like lightning never strikes the same place twice. I will never be struck again having already been illuminated by your love.” Serena told her sweetly. Blair smiled and was unable to resist stealing a few more kisses from her love.

“But still we should depart before we do anything to rash. Good night.” Blair lifted herself out of the pool and began to walk way. The soaked girl walking away entranced Serena as her eyes followed Blair’s retreating form. The white cloth clung to her skin in an enticing manner.

“Wait, would you leave me so unsatisfied?” Serena asked from her place in the pool.

“And what satisfaction would you have tonight?” Blair turned around playing raising an eyebrow at Serena who gulped at the sight of the dripping brunette.

“An exchange of vows. Please give me your love and you shall have mine.” Serena eyes bore in Blair’s. The petite brunette practically swooned.

“You had mine before you even asked.” Blair gushed as she rushed forward throwing herself into Serena’s arms and they both went splashing back into the water. Submerged they kissed, too impassioned to bother with oxygen. Underneath the water the silence enveloped them giving them a quiet moment to enjoy each other’s company. Eventually they resurfaced gasping for air.

“Blair!” the two could faintly hear Dorota hollering for the girl. Blair groaned as the two girls raced out of the pool to avoid getting caught. They ducked behind a wall to avoid being seen from the balcony.

“Serena if you want to continue this contact me tomorrow. But if this is nothing more than an attempt to bed me please leave me alone in my despair.” Blair pleaded with her.

“I won’t leave you waiting. We will do this right. What say you to a date?” Serena tucked damp strands of dark hair behind Blair’s ear.

“A thousand times yes!” Blair said excitedly as she leaned up to kiss the blonde.

“Blair!” Dorota shouted again.

“I am coming!” Blair parted their lips just briefly enough to call back before resuming the kiss.

“Blair!” the maid persisted.

“Oh! Good night.” Blair said with a big smile as she slipped through side door from where she had come. Serena watched her disappear up some stairs. She looked at the windows in hopes of catching a glimpse of her fair maiden. Her eyes followed a shadow hurrying through the house and finally it emerged onto the balcony.

“When should I send word to you?” Blair spoke quietly to her.

“By nine.” Serena called up with a goofy smile plastered on her face. It nearly 4 o’clock in the morning and nine would be quickly approaching but she could barely wait to be holding Blair once again.

“I will send Dorota. Oh, It will be forever until then.” Blair sighed. Serena charged the trellis and climb until she reached balcony. She strained forward to meet Blair’s lips in a loving kiss.

“Blair!” Dorota yelled.

“I love you Serena Van der Woodsen.” Blair declared softly. She took off the necklace she was wearing, a simple silver cross from Tiffany’s and let it bunch in Serena’s hand.

“And I love you Blair Waldorf.” Serena said as she pulled a slender silver ring embedded with diamonds all the way from her finger. It had been a gift from her father and she rarely went without it. Now she used it to symbolize her love and dedication to the brunette who was trembling with emotion. Blair gasped at the beauty of it all as Serena slipped the ring on her finger.

“Good night.” Serena placed gentle kiss on Blair’s lips one more time before climbing back down to that she may slip out of the Waldorf residence.

“Oh parting is such sweet sorrow that we should say goodnight until tomorrow.” Blair said quietly to herself as she watched Serena escape away into the night. She placed her newly ringed hand over her heart and willed the time to go by quickly so that she could see Serena again.

“BLAIR!” her Polish maid called out in aggravation.

“Ugh!” Blair rolled her eyes and went inside to be found by the trying woman.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena skipped off the balcony and fled to the elevator. Her heart soared while she descended to the street level. She could hardly wait until tomorrow when she could hold Blair again. She burst out onto the sidewalk and let out a loud whoop. She was far too exhilarated to go to sleep. The blonde began to roam the streets of New York City on cloud nine. Serena had spent many nights the past week doing just this but before she was burdened with grave thoughts. Tonight she was free, basking in the flame of her new love.

She looked down at the necklace bestowed to her by Blair. Serena pressed the cool metal to her lips before placing it around her neck. The cross fell over her heart. She could feel her heart pumping in her chest, feeling alive for the first time in awhile. Like she had been trapped under water and she had finally made it out, breathing in her first taste of air, Blair Waldorf.

Eric gently stirred in his bed. His blonde hair was tussled from the night as he raised his head from his pillow. He cracked open his sleep laden eyes and looked about his sun filled bedroom. As his eyes fell on an unexpected figure lurking in the corner he gasped and jumped away. However he quickly realized that it was not a threat as his brain processed that it was his sister hovering across the room.

“Jesus Serena! What are you doing here? And why are you still in your costume? Unless… Have you not been to bed?” Eric said exasperated. The only son of Lily Van der Woosen and Serena’s younger bother, he was the levelheaded one of the family. He was often the person that Serena would go to for advice. The boy sat up, rubbing his eyes tiredly.

“No, I haven’t. I am in love Eric!” Serena fell out of the shadows swooping into the light like a bird.

“Yeah I know. So was it Rosaline that you were out all night with?” Eric wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. He continued, “Though I am surprised you convinced her otherwise. She seemed very straight.”

“Rosa-who? I have forgotten all about that name.” Serena said taking a seat on the edge of Eric’s bed.

“Are you serious?! You mooned over her for weeks!” Eric stared at her in disbelief. If he had been standing he would have staggered backward.

“Oh please Eric, don’t be so melodramatic.” Serena laughed as she lay down. She turned onto her side facing her stunned brother, propping her hand up with her hand.

“You are impossible. I suppose it is for the best. Rosaline was a bitch. So who is it this time?” Eric asked.

“Only the most beautiful girl in the whole world.” Serena’s eyes glazed over as her thoughts returned to Blair.

“But who?” Eric leaned against his pillows.

“You will be surprised…” Serena bit her lip nervously and twirled her hair around her finger. She knew that news like this was not to be distributed lightly.

“It is too early for this Serena.” Eric groaned.

“Alright… I am in love with the daughter of Eleanor Waldorf.” Serena shut her eyes and braced herself for her brother’s reaction.

“WHAT?” Eric erupted. “Blair Waldorf?! Do you realize how wrong that is? Mom would send you to boarding school if she found out. And you have fallen in love in only one night? You are using your eyes, not your head.”

“Eric please, I don’t need a lecture. I need your help.” Serena looked at Eric sadly, her big blue eyes pleading for help. Eric sighed as he looked at his pitiful sister. He could see that she believed this with all of her heart.

“I suppose this could be a good thing. Perhaps our parents will realize who ridiculous they are being and end this god forsaken feud.” Eric said placing a reassuring hand on his sister’s arm.

“Thanks Eric.” Serena smiled as the siblings shared a moment.

“So what do you intend to do?” Eric asked.

“I am going to take her on a date!” Serena said becoming giddy once again. Eric laughed.

“Well this is new. Where will you take her?” Eric was impressed. Normally Serena would just pick up a girl at a party, maybe keep her around for a week, and then inevitably not call her again. He had never actually heard of her taking a girl on an actual date.

“I am not sure. It is tricky. I want to amaze her but I need to be discreet.” Serena explained. She could not be seen around town with her enemy, especially with Gossip Girl who had a tendency to inform all of New York about her every move. Both she and Blair could not let their affair out, which would be difficult as the public often scrutinized them.

“How about Daniel’s? They are very subtle for a price.” Eric suggested. The restaurant was on the outer edge of the Upper East Side away from most of the drama. The front had frosted windows concealing the identities of the occupants inside. It should be easy be easy enough to slip in unseen. And it was unbelievably romantic.

“Yeah that is perfect. Thanks Eric.” Serena shot up and began to float out of the room. She needed to make some phone calls. Looking at the time on her cell phone, she realized it would only be an hour before she would here from Blair.

“You’re welcome.” Eric called after her but his sister might as well already been gone as she was too wrapped up in her new task at hand. He smiled and shook his head. He never thought he would see the day that Serena Van der Woodsen fell in love.

Romeo&Juliet: Act 2

  • Jan. 13th, 2010 at 2:27 AM

“Blair!” Eleanor hollered into the large penthouse apartment, which was bustling with people cleaning and decorating for the party. She was wandering around in a skimpy robe in search of her elusive daughter. The brunette had developed the talent for hiding at a young age and was often not found until she wanted to be.

“Blair! Dorota, find my daughter.” The older woman ordered in agitation. The plump maid who had been dusting the staircase straightened up in attention.

“Yes Mrs. Waldorf!” she said handing off her duty to a passing maid.

“Blair!” Dorota began to shout as Eleanor had and began to scuttle through all numerous rooms in the apartment. Her employer rolled her eyes at the shrill voice echoing through the halls in attempts to find her daughter.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Blair Waldorf lay perfect still in her tub with her eyes shut peacefully. She needed a relaxing bath before tonight’s event started. She knew that she would have to suffer through foul businessmen ogling her form, politely making small talk with the uppity women of society, and worst of all, her mother openly throwing her at Jack Bass. She could not think of a more horrible suitor than her mother’s future business partner. The way he leered at her and waited in the wings for her like a villain in the shadows crept her out way too much. It was always about business with her mother. She could practically see the wheels in her mother’s head turning, thinking of all the advantages of marrying her daughter off to Jack Bass.

But Blair was growing sick of it all. And more than anything she wanted to be out from under her mother’s thumb. She did not want be a seventeen-year-old wife to a chauvinistic twenty-five year old businessman. She did not want to follow her mother’s impossible expectations. She did not want to carry on this feud with people that she had never even met before. Blair Waldorf was ready to be her own person.

“Blair!” the brunette groaned at hearing the distant voice of her mother calling.

“Blair!” she heard Dorota chiming in moments later. She giggled at the thought of her dear plumb maid huffing around the apartment.

“Blair!” Now their voices combined, grating against her ears.

“Ugh!” Blair submerged herself under the water to drown them out, considering staying down there forever.

“Blair!” Dorota called out once more. She had made an entire lap around the downstairs and was back by the steps once more.

“I am here. What is your will?” Blair asked with false sweetness. The teenager stood in her bathrobe at the bottom of the stairs, her hair still dripping wet from the bath. Her mother appeared out of nowhere dressed as
Cleopatra and was instantly dragging her daughter back up the steps.

“Blair you are not the least bit ready. The guests will be arriving soon.” Eleanor said horrified.

“Sorry mother. I was in the bath.” Blair said as they entered her bedroom.

“Well in any case, I want you to look your best tonight. As you know, my business associate Jack Bass shall be in attendance.” Eleanor said already starting in on her daughter. Blair rolled her eyes and sat on the edge of her bed as her mother was drawn across the room to examine her reflection in the mirror.

“Oh?” Blair pretended as if she were interested.

“Yes, you know, he thinks you are very beautiful. I think he is interested.” Eleanor said dropping yet another painfully obvious hint. She picked up some eyeliner from Blair’s vanity and began to reapply it on the already thick line under her eye.

“ I suppose I should be flattered.” Blair said in monotone.

“Yes, you should. Now what do you think of Jack?” Eleanor said turning to her daughter with a cross look upon her face as she sensed Blair’s insolence.

“I hardly know the man mother.” Blair said meeting her mother’s gaze. It was times like these when she knew why her father had left her mother. Well this and he started to prefer Roberto, his sensual massager. There was a soft knocking on the door and Dorota popped her head in.

“Mrs. Waldorf, the guests are arriving.” She said interrupting the mother and daughter staring contest.

“Thank you Dorota. Now help Miss Blair get ready.” Eleanor snapped as she stormed out of the room to see to the people arriving. Blair rubbed her eyes tiredly. Her mother always had an exhausting affect on her. Dorota leaned down and slipped her arm around the defeated girl.

“Come Miss Blair. Pay no mind and go seek a happy night.” Dorota said giving the girl a gentle squeeze. Blair smiled at the kind maid that had practically raised her and went to get ready for the party.

Serena stepped out onto her balcony for a moment of silence. She took a cleansing breath of the cool night air. She viewed the lively streets below and was glad to be so far removed from it all. Despite going to this party with prospects of seeing the beautiful Rosaline, her heart was still heavy. Love was weighing down her thoughts. She believed she loved this girl and yet Serena could not shake the feeling this was not the real thing. The blonde was beginning to realize that despite the multitude of girls she had bed she had never been in love. If Rosaline was not it, then what was? Was she doomed to be alone?

“Serena! You got your dancing shoes on?” Nate Archibald her long time best friend burst out of the French styled doors waving an invitation in her face. The Archibald family was the lone family that seemed untouched by the feud between the Waldorfs and Van der Woodsens. Nate’s family was so influential that they had the ability socialize with both families so her best friend was the man to go to about an invitation. Serena snatched the piece of paper out of Nate’s hand.

“My sole is too heavy to dance. Nate, you just added ‘and friends’ to this invitation.” Serena said as she looked at the beautifully scripted Nathaniel Archibald done in gold leaf and underneath ‘& friends’ was crudely written in sharpie.

“Don’t worry about it. And aren’t you in love, so borrow cupids wings and fly.” Nate said pulling at the blonde and spinning her around. Serena laughed.

“I would but love is weighing me down. And what are you wearing?” Serena asked as she got a good look at her friend for the first time. Nate’s normally sandy blonde hair was covered with a wig of long blond hair topped off with a black bow. His green eyes were covered with ridiculously large sunglasses. On his toned torso he wore a black bra revealing his abs, which ran into a tight pink pencil skirt.

“I am Lady Gaga, junk and all. And you are?” The cross-dressed boy cocked his hip to one side and extended his arm, letting his wrist go limp and his hand flapped about. Serena laughed as she took the gloved hand and bowed.

“I am a knight in shining, duh.” Serena said then placed a kiss on the leather in true knightly fashion. Serena’s signature blonde hair was up in a messy bun to hide it. She wore a chain mail shirt and her arms were covered with polished armor. Her black skinny jeans were tucked into her Gucci riding boots.

“And this is a barely veiled attempt to win over Rosaline’s heart?” Nate asked in all seriousness. Serena sighed and walked to the railing of the balcony where she rested her arms, hunching forward in despair.

“I don’t know Nate. Maybe this is not such a good idea.” Serena shook her head.

“What do you mean Serena? Of course it is.” Nate said tiredly. He leaned his back against the railing next to his friend and waited to hear whatever nonsense Serena was thinking. He loved the lanky blonde dearly but he was quickly becoming of her moping.

“I mean it. I feel like no good will come of this night. Don’t you see it in the stars?” Serena asked gesturing up to the night sky.

“We live in New York City Serena. You can’t see the stars.” Nate deadpanned.

“I am serious Nate.” Serena said elbowing her friend in the ribs.

“Here I have something that will lighten your load.” Nate said making the tall girl perk up. Serena watched as he dug around in the big white purse he was carrying. Eventually Nate extracted his hand with a big goofy grin on his face. Serena saw that pinched between thumb and index finger was a small, white pill.

“Come now Serena, if love cannot send you to great heights then this certainly will.” Nate placed the ecstasy into the blonde’s waiting hand.

“Are you two done with your chat? The night is young and we are late.” Dan stuck his head outside. Serena laughed at the sight of Dan dressed as a pastor with absurd round glasses on his face. The blonde looked back to Nate who watched her expectantly. Serena glanced at the pill in her hand and thought what the hell as she tossed it in her mouth, tilting her head back to dry swallow.

“Onward lusty gentlemen.” She proclaimed and grabbed a silver mask. She placed it crookedly over her eyes and the departed for the party.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The drugs were quick. Nate successfully got Serena and Dan passed security as they breezed right through. The party was full of debauchery as the stodgy businessmen and uppity socialites let loose, emboldened by their costumes and alcohol. Serena enjoyed herself for sometime as she danced among the other party guests with
Nate and Dan. Her drug induced haze allowed her to forget about Rosaline and her costume was a perfect disguise so that no one new a Van der Woodsen was amidst them. Though everyone was far to hammered to realize who she was.

Even Eleanor Waldorf came up to her slurred that she was glad she could make it to the party. Serena smiled and nodded but as she did her vision was doubled and suddenly two Eleanor’s were kissing her on the cheek and sending her on her way. Serena turned around to look for help but Nate had drawn a crowd around himself as he expertly mimed to Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance making it impossible to get to him. Dan was in a heated lip lock having found some poor willing girl. Serena felt as though the world was spinning and decided she needed a break.

Stumbling out of the crowd, Serena wandered off to find a bathroom. She found a quieter hallway and opened doors until she found one. Serena promptly pulled off her mask and stuck her head in the sink. Turning on the faucet, she reveled in the feeling of the water hit her face. She exhausted her need to breath before she pulled back, looking at her dripping reflection in the mirror. She took deep breaths and patted her face dry with the towel the rested on the counter. Serena felt better as she came down from her high. Abandoning her mask, she exited the bathroom and began to look around the vast home of her supposed mortal enemy, and enemy she had never laid eyes on.

Exploring the apartment further, Serena found the dining room where dinner had been served. It was in a state of disarray as the scraps of food and empty cups of wine had been abandoned for the revelry going on in the great hall. Serena walked around the edge of the room to a grand fireplace. She was observing the vases and trinkets that sat on top of the mahogany when she noticed movement in the ornate mirror that hung above the mantel. She froze at the sight that she beheld in the reflect surface.

A girl with wavy brunette hair leaned against the door, her eyes shut, unaware of Serena’s presence. The tall blonde could only stare in awe as the petite girl caught her breath having escaped from the party. She wore a white silk gown that wrapped tightly around her middle showing off her curves before loosely falling around her legs. She wore angel wings that could not have been more fitting for Serena thought the girl had fallen from heaven. A silver braided headband fell across her forehead serving as a halo. Serena whirled around her armor jingling, making alerting the brunette to her company.

Her brown eyes flew open and a gasp escaped her perfect red lips. The girl instantly relaxed though at the sight of Serena’s kind smile and blue eyes gazing at her from across the room. The blonde nearly melted when the brunette returned the smile. As they surveyed each other an instant attraction was born. The world fell away from Serena and all that was left was this perfection, this heart-breaking beautiful stranger. Before she had a chance to say anything to the girl, the door, which the girl had entered from flew open, startling the two occupants of the room.

“Lady, your mother requires a word.” A plump maid panted out before dragging the surprised brunette away. Without thinking, Serena took off after them.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Blair felt herself being pulled along as she tried to wrap her head around what had just transpired. She had never felt something so instantly for someone and not a word had been said. The petite girl was drawn to the mysterious blonde like a moth to a flame. She had looked into the swirling blue-green eyes and knew that she could not live without the taller girl. Never had she seen someone so beautiful. Glancing behind her, to her delight she saw the lanky girl struggling through the crowd to follow them. She shot back a smile to hopefully entice the blonde forward.

Unfortunately when she faced front once again, she found her mother and Jack Bass who was dressed as an astronaut waiting for her. Her smile fell from her face as she approached the dastardly pair.

“Ah, Blair, you would not deny me this dance?” Jack asked reaching out his hand to her. The music had slowed and couples were dancing in each other’s arms.

“Of course not. Be a good host, dance with the man.” Eleanor answered for her. Unable to refuse, she silently took his hand and allowed herself to be led to the dance floor. She avoided eye contact with her partner, opting instead to scan the crowd in hopes of finding her gorgeous blonde. Blair found her leaning against a column watching her dance. As their eyes found each other’s once more, Blair instantly felt the sparks flying in between them. She fought to keep her eyes on the tall girl as she unwillingly danced around with Jack.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Blair was not the only one who had spotted Serena. Chuck Bass stood at the top of the stairs smartly dressed in a black button down shirt and a silky red vest. Perched on top of his head he wore sparkling devil horns, more his true colors than a costume. Chuck was viewing all of the guests below when his eyes landed on the infamous blonde. The sight of her made his blood boil. Serena Van der Woodsen was his main rival. The slender blonde was irresistible to women. She was always coming to parties and leaving with the hottest girl. It pissed him off to no end.

Now she was invading on his turf. He noticed that the girl was intently watching someone. Chuck followed her line of sight and saw her eyes were glued to Blair who was dancing with his uncle. He and Blair had grown up together and he thought of her as his sister. Even he realized that his uncle was no good for the blossoming beauty. He knew Jack was planning on marrying the brunette and he was strongly against it. But having Serena interfere was not due either. Chuck would not watch as his dear friend was seduced by the studly Van der Woodsen only to have her heart broken. So while generally he held spite for his uncle, in this case it was out weighed by his hate for Serena. And after all, he was family. He began to storm down the stairs when he ran into Eleanor who was on her way up.

“Where are you off to in such a hurry?” Eleanor asked stopping the enraged boy.

“Serena Van der Woodsen is here.” He spat out angrily.

“Oh leave it be. People are having far too much fun. I would not exchange this night for all the well of New York City.” Eleanor giggled far too drunk to care about the uninvited guest.

“But Eleanor- ” he started.

“Let her alone.” Eleanor stated with finality.

“I cannot endure it.” Chuck argued as he tried to slip past the older woman. Eleanor quickly became irate as she held back the younger Bass. She slapped him on the cheek.

“You will not make mutiny among my guests. Or there will be a price to pay. Now go!” Eleanor ordered him off. Chuck slinked away, his ego bruised, but far from being finished.

The music finally ended with a few dainty notes and Blair quickly removed herself from Jack’s grasp. Relieved to be out of his overly muscular arms, she wished to have dance within slender yet strong arms.

“Thank you all for coming.” Eleanor slurred from the top of the stairs. All of the guest eyes turned to their inebriated hostess as she began to give a drunken speech. With Jack preoccupied Blair took the opportunity to step backward, hoping to slip away from him. In doing so she lightly bumped into the person behind her and her hand easily slipped into their hand. Glancing back she recognized the blonde stranger and her heart fluttered. She averted her eyes forward but did not withdrawal her hand.

“My hand is unworthy to hold such a hand as this.” The taller girl spoke to her for the first time. Her voice was soft and low. It was all she wanted to hear from that point on. The girl continued, “Let me smooth my rough touch with a tender kiss.”

Blair watched as her unknown suitor lowered her lips to her pale knuckles and place a delicate kiss there. Blair blushed as she spoke, “But only our palms shall kiss. Like those of saints.”

Blair moved away with an impish grin. The taller girl smiled as she recognized the brunette’s attempt at playing hard to get. She would pursue her as long as it took. Blair let herself be stopped and turned around to face the blonde once more.

“Don’t saints have lips too?” Serena asked moving in to kiss her brunette.

“Yes, lips that they use in worship.” Blair ducked out of the kiss moving still further away from the crowd toward the exit.

“Then please, let lips do as they should. Let my lips worship you.” Serena rasped. Blair pulled them into the elevator. As the door slid shut, Serena closed the distance between them. Her arms wrapped tightly around Blair’s waist as she placed a gentle kiss on her companion. As their lips moved together, Blair thought she saw stars. Never had a kiss felt so right. Serena, unable to resist, moved her mouth away from the sweetness of Blair’s lips to taste the smooth skin on her neck.

“Oh good knight, you kiss by the book.” Blair sighed as the blonde dropped kisses onto her shoulder.

“And you sweet angel taste of heaven.” Serena mumbled against her skin. The elevator doors opened and Blair could hear her mother shouting for her. Aggravated, she hit the close doors button and continued to kiss the taller girl. They were in awe of each other as Blair gingerly caressed the blonde’s soft cheek and Serena grasped at the brunette’s waist, afraid that it my not be real. For a moment, they were enclosed in a world where only the other existed and it was perfect.

“Ahem!” they were ripped back into reality when they realized the elevator door had opened and a Polish maid had them fixed in a disapproving gaze. She grabbed Blair’s hand and said, “Your mother craves a word with you.”

Blair could only wordlessly follow as Dorota tugged her along. Serena was hot on their heels though. She was bound and determined to at least know the name of the stunning brunette. Serena watched as the maid led the petite girl up the steps. She stopped short when she realized whom the pair had stopped and talked too. The girl’s mother was Eleanor Waldorf. Her smile waned as her heart filled was filled dread.

“She a Waldorf?” she muttered to herself, meaning it could only be person. Blair Waldorf. Eleanor walked away from her daughter, a dashing gentleman following her. The brunette was expected to followed but she remained at the top of the stairs, hold the blonde’s gaze. Dorota walked up behind the young woman.

“Her name is Serena, as in Serena Van der Woodsen. The only daughter of your mother’s competition.” Dorota whispered into her ear. Blair could hardly believe what she was hearing. They stared at each other sadly and yet with a longing to be close once more.

“Come on Serena. Parties over.” Nate said as he found the blonde inexplicably immobilized. She gently began to push her towards the exit as all the other guests began to slowly leave the penthouse. Blair watched as she saw Serena’s friends dragging her to the busy elevators.

“My only love sprung from my only hate. It cannot be undone and so I am damned to love my enemy.” Blair murmured to herself as she lost the face of her beloved in the sea of people.

Another chapter, a loose interpretation. I am cheating because it is already a story. Just subtracting some of the Shakespearean stuff lol. Comments please.

Romeo&Juliet: Act 1

  • Jan. 9th, 2010 at 10:53 AM

It was fashion week in New York City. Bryant Park was teeming with activity. White tents had been erected and impeccably dressed people milled about, all of them clamoring to get in to see the latest in fashion. People with cameras and microphones flocked around a certain tent waiting for the show the contained inside to end and for all of the rich, fabulous people to emerge so that they could be the first to get the scoop. Each network or magazine wanted to have the exclusive interview of what Victoria Beckham or Heidi Klum or someone equally as marvelous thought of the supposedly hottest line this season.

Inside the tent, it was decorated with light blue and white fabrics cleanly draped to keep all of the attention glued to the gorgeous models strutting down the runway. The white chairs were filled with people who watched each ensemble flow by with a critical eye. People in the back, strained to watch from their seats while the people in the front row, sitting on cushions, acted as if they were bored with the glamorous precession. Poppy Lifton knew better as she sashayed down the catwalk in all her long-legged glory. She strode in tempo with the thumping music that pervaded her ears, the designer dress she wore billowed behind her. She could see the smiles on the audience’s faces and the awe in their hushed whispers as she glided by them. The lithe girl was a model for the world-renowned designer Lily Van der Woodsen and was well seasoned, this being her fifth show with the designer.

“She looks like a cow.” A feminine voice cut through her conscious causing her to falter and Poppy Lifton did not falter.

“A mad cow.” Another female voice chipped followed by the tittering of cruel laughter. Poppy, a model known for her fiery hot tempers, stopped dead in her tracks and turned. Then she marched back until she found the culprits, two teenage girls quietly laughing to themselves.

Hazel Williams and Kati Farkas initially did not notice the irate model looming over them. Kati saw her first her eyes widening with fear having incurred the wrath of Poppy Lifton. The Asian girl immediately stopped her cackling and elbowed her strawberry blonde companion. Hazel glared at her dubiously. Kati ticked up head upward indicating for the oblivious girl to follow her apprehensive gaze. The blonde looked up to see the olive-skinned model staring them down. Poppy was a fearsome sight to behold. Her brunette locks were teased into a voluminous mess of curls atop her head and she towered over them in her six-inch heels.

“What was that?” Poppy asked her voice terse with anger. Though both girls were petrified, Hazel took some initiative as she put on a brave face meeting the other girl’s intense stare.

“Merely commenting on the ‘finest’ in fall fashion.” She said snidely with a phony smile plastered on her face.

“Perhaps you should keep your comments to yourself. I will do more than throw my Blackberry.” Poppy said as she stepped off the stage imposing her intimidating stature on the girls. Hazel desperately wanted to avoid a physical confrontation with the model. She had watched a drug special on A&E and it had shown that addicts were prone to fits of violence and often displayed abnormal feats of strength. Though Poppy looked like a twig, for all Hazel new she could be a strung out coke whore that could kill at any moments notice. Plus she had just gotten her nails done. So all Hazel could do was join in on Kati’s cowering as her mouth open and closed like a fish gasping for air outside of water, unable to think of something to say that would remedy the situation.

“Calm down Poppy. I think you misunderstood Hazel here.” A young man that had been sitting next to the girls stood from his seat and slid in front of the incensed model. His was smooth and patronizing as Poppy’s eyes narrowed in, noticing him for the first time. His dark hair was slicked back and he was stylishly in a navy suit, lavender dress shirt and a dapper red bow tie.

“Chuck Bass. And what did our little Hazel mean exactly when she called me a cow?” Poppy questioned with distained dripping from her tone. Chuck Bass and his family were largely affiliated with Eleanor Waldorf who had her own infamous fashion line. The Waldorf line was always the Van der Woodsen’s top competitor. From this opposition spawned a life long grudge between the companies that rippled down through the generations, prompting all Upper East Siders to choose a side. It even affected the school that the children went to. All on the side of Waldorf went to Constance while the Van der Woodsen clan went to St. Jude’s. By now the music had stopped playing and a couple of other models were coming out on the catwalk, much to the stage manager’s dismay as he tried to usher the girls behind the curtain. They ignored the man with his thin, quiver mustache and balding head being far too curious to see how this would play out. Plus they were itching for a fight as they eyed Hazel and Kati who met their gaze with equal vehemence having been somewhat emboldened now that Chuck was involved. The other people watching the show were completely silent as they watched the scene unfold with rapt attention.

“I believe her words were looks like a cow. And I am sure it is the poor design of the dress that adds the twenty pounds.” Chuck said. Poppy looked as if she were about to lunge forward and attack the composed boy when a voice thwarted her.

“Poppy he is not worth it.” A male interjected as he stood from his seat on the other side of the runway. The young man was clean-shaven with a mop of curls on his head. He would have fit in with the other ritzy occupants of the tent with white dress shirt and skinny black tie if a pair of dirty Converse shoes was not poking out of his black slacks. He was Dan Humphrey, stepson to Lily Van der Woodsen. Recently his father Rufus had married the wealthy fashion designer, uprooting him from his former residents in Brooklyn to a lavish penthouse apartment in the Upper East Side. He was having a difficult time shaking his poor boy image but he was quickly coming to love his new family unit. Dan had even agreed to go to Lily’s show with Serena Van der Woodsen. However, his blonde stepsister had been a no show leaving him alone to defend the family name.

“Humphrey? When did they start letting riff-raff like you into these events?” Chuck asked in an antagonizing tone.

“I am just trying to keep the peace Bass.” Dan said ignoring the dig that Chuck had said.

“Oh but Dan, how I do hate the peace. As I hate all of the trash that crawls out of Brooklyn.” Chuck said trying to provoke the boy once more. This time his bait was caught as Dan hopped onto the stage his jaw clenched with anger.

“Want to try that again Bass?” he challenged. Chuck brushed passed Poppy and stepped onto the stage as well squaring off with the slightly taller boy.

“I just mean it is a shame that the rest of us must endure such filth because one family let dogs into their home.” Chuck said idly toying with his gold cuff links pretending a great disinterest in the boy in front of him. Dan snapped as he uncharacteristically punched Chuck in the mouth. The shorter boy was initially stunned as she staggered back a step. He touched his finger to his lip, pulling the digit back to look at the blood he found there, which had begun to seep from his lip. Swiping at it with his tongue, he launched his own attack placing two swift punches in Dan’s gut. Soon the boys were wrestling on the runway exchanging blows. Poppy took this as a sign to exact her revenge on Hazel as she leap onto the blonde pulling her hair and shouting obscenities. Hazel grabbed onto Poppy’s dark locks as well trying to defend herself from the crazed girl. Another model had managed to claw past the stage manger and was attempting to attack Kati who was wildly swinging her purse to fend off the tall girl.

Pandemonium had erupted in the tent, as photographers manically snapped pictures desperate to get a shock of the action. The flashes of the cameras added to the mayhem as security swarmed trying to pull apart the brawling teens.

“This is a disgrace.” The woman in charge of Fashion Week said in disgust as she surveyed the motley crew in front of her. On one side of the room sat Eleanor Waldorf, her foot tuck behind her heel, as she sat poised on the end of her seat. Beside the aged beauty sat Chuck looking bored with the whole situation and also looking a shade worse for the wear. His normally tidy clothes were rumpled, the blood on his lip had congealed, and his hair was mussed up from the fray. On the other side, Lily Van der Woodsen sat with her new husband Rufus. She clutched his hand and looked at Dan who was sitting next to his father. The teen was looking very rugged with his black eye and torn shirt. The group was in her office being scolded for disturbing the peace once again.

“We are so very sorry. We do not know what came over Daniel.” Lily said who was honestly surprised by the actions of her normally passive stepson.

“I don’t want to hear it.” The chairwoman flinched. She had enough of these spoiled brats waltzing around thinking they could get away with anything. She would be heard. Lily sunk back and let the woman continue her already lengthy lecture. “This is the third time an incident like this has occurred at Fashion Week. I want no more of this. If anything like this should happen again then you shall be banned from any future Fashion Weeks.”

Both parties nodded in understanding. The woman finished tartly, “Now go. Out of my sight.”

“Come Charles.” Eleanor said briskly escorting the young Bass out of the office. Her heels could be heard clicking down the hallway in order to get to the elevator first.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Lily slipped into her limousine, followed by the two new men in her life. Rufus looked grim with disappointment unable to look at his son. Dan looked distraught with remorse as he sat across from his parents, shoulders hunched and head hanging down. There was an awkward silence as the driver took off into the streets.

“What were you thinking? At Lily’s fashion show?” Rufus asked crossly as he snapped at the disheveled boy.

“Rufus he was just trying to help.” Lily admonished her husband. He did not yet comprehend the severity of grudge between the two families. She was mildly proud that her stepson had taken a stand.

“Still, he should now better.” Rufus grumbled as he returned to staring out the tinted window.

“Regardless, I am just glad that Serena was not in the fight. Have you seen her today? She was supposed to be with you.” Lily asked changing the topic as her thoughts turned to her wayward daughter.

“I did. Briefly this morning. She said she was going to take a quick walk around Central Park and then she would meet me at the show but she never turned up.” Dan explained.

“She has been disappearing to the Park a lot recently.” Rufus noted.

“I noticed. She has been shutting herself in her room, closing the curtains, sulking about in her self-imposed night. What is making her so depressed?” Lily asked Dan concerned. But the curly-haired boy could only shrug his shoulders unaware of what may be plaguing his stepsister.

“Perhaps you should go and speak with her. Offer her some counsel.” Rufus suggested as the limo pulled up to Central Park.

“Of course. I will see what I can do.” Dan said as he escaped for the somber atmosphere in the car. He took off through the park and headed to a lake where he knew Serena frequented. As he came upon the glittering pond, he almost instantly saw a familiar blonde figure pacing along the waters edge. She was glowing in the afternoon sun, her blonde hair shone as it caught in the breeze. Her fitted white button down shirt was tucked into her black jeans almost matching her stepbrother’s outfit. Dan approached Serena who stopped short upon seeing him. He waved lamely.

“Hey Sis.” Dan greeted.

“I was supposed to meet you at Mom’s fashion show.” Serena said in realization as she covered her eyes with her hand.

“Yeah.” Dan chuckled lightly.

“I am so sorry Dan. I have been preoccupied.” Serena apologized. Her hand moved up nervously tugging it through her unruly hair.

“What is up Serena?” Dan asked. He followed Serena to a near by park bench where she flopped down looking defeated.

“What torments all adolescents?” Serena sighed. Dan sat down with the blonde.

“Your in love?” Dan asked surprised. Serena Van der Woodsen was a well-known playgirl. She seduced the women of the New York City and left a trail of broken hearts in her wake. Women flocked to her and swooned. It was shocking to hear that the tall girl was finally smitten.

“Out of.” Serena corrected.

“Out of love?” Now Dan was confused.

“Out of her favor. Where I am in love.” Serena explained. Dan shook his head at Serena’s complex train of thought.

“And who exactly are you in love with?” Dan asked but before Serena could answer their phones went off. Serena pulled hers out curiously and found a text from Gossip Girl.

Battle on the catwalk! A good old fashion brawl erupted at Lily Van der Woodsen’s Fashion Show when our very own Lonely Boy duked it out with Chuck Bass. What was said that brought the boys to fist-a-cuffs? Is Dan defending his new name family name? For shame gents, don’t you know violence does not solve anything?

You know you love me,
XOXO
Gossip Girl

The text was complete with photos of the boys tussling on the runway. Serena finished reading the taunting text and looked up at Dan baffled.

“Oh Dan, what happened here?” Serena asked. Dan opened his mouth but nothing came out as he gestured helplessly, unable to explain what had happened earlier that afternoon.

“Never mind, I have heard it all before.” Serena said exasperated. She stood, grabbing her black suit jacket with silk lapels, and slung it over her shoulder like a model. “You know the only reason we fight is because we are so much alike.”

Serena started to walk across the great lawn and Dan scurried to keep up with her. The tall girl had endured her mother’s grudge all of her life and could never quite understand it. She opted to be a lover more than a fighter.

“Come on, let’s get something to eat.” Serena said putting her arm around Dan’s shoulder as they walked away together.

Eleanor Waldorf rode up in an elevator with Jack Bass to her office. She had met up with the young businessman at her company’s headquarters after she had dropped Chuck off at his apartment. The two were discussing plans of merging their businesses together, a very lengthy and arduous enterprise.

“I hear Charles wound up in a fight at the Van der Woodsen show.” Jack commented.

“Oh yes. Just boys being boys I suppose. But we must keep the peace now, I can’t have it effecting my line.” Eleanor said absent-mindedly. Chuck could pick whatever fight he wanted, he would just have to keep it away from Fashion Week. Something she had given him a stern lecture about in the car.

“Ah well, now have you considered my offer?” Jack asked diving into business with a chipper attitude.

“Well we are still crunching numbers but everything seems to be going smoothly.” Eleanor said confidently.

“No not that offer, the other. In regards to your daughter.” Jack raised an eyebrow at the elder brunette.

“Oh, well, Blair is still so young. I don’t think she should be getting married until after college.” Eleanor said trying to hide her annoyance with the dashing young man. Jack Bass had been named one of New York City’s most eligible bachelors so when he had approached her about marrying her daughter Blair, she was surprised. The man was a notorious womanizer and too old for Blair and yet he remained persistent. In the back of Eleanor’s mind however, she realized that the union would be extremely beneficial for the merger and future business relations. And she always put business first.

“She could still go to college. We could have a long engagement.” Jack said trying to congeal a yes out of his future business partner.

“Just wait. In the mean time, I am hosting a fabulous party at my house tonight. A costume party. You can come and try to woo the girl yourself.” Eleanor offered trying to buy some time. Jack nodded a greedy smile spread across his face.

“So who exactly are you in love with?” Dan asked again once he and Serena were settled in a French style bistro.

“A girl.” Serena said dreamily.

“Yes, and what girl?” Dan laughed.

“Rosaline.” Serena said with a far off twinkle in her eye.

“Oh the redhead from that party. She is beautiful.” Dan recognized.

“Yes she is.” Serena said, a dopey smile creeping onto her face.

“Well what is stopping you?” Dan questioned, grabbing a slice of bread from the basket that sat on their table.

“She is straight.” Serena said glumly.

“You have tried to pursue her and she still claims to not be interested?” Dan asked astonished that the blonde had actually been turned down.

“Yes.” Serena said in despair as she laid her head down on the table, shaking it forlornly.

“Well, just don’t think of her.” Dan advised.

“And tell me how to stop thinking. It is not as easy for some of us.” Serena demanded as she lifted her head to eye her stepbrother.

“Be nice. I just mean there are other fish in the sea. Plenty of other conquests.” Dan explained. He figured all Serena needed was a distraction. She was simply not used to hearing no from a girl. They only reason she wanted Rosaline was because she eluded her so. But Serena remained stubborn, believing she had found love at last. The blonde crossed her arms angrily.

“Oh don’t be mad at me Serena.” Dan said giving Serena puppy dog eyes.

“I am not mad. I just feel bound like a madman.” Serena said running her hand through her hair, a nervous habit. At that moment, their phones went off once again indicating another text arrived.

This just in, Eleanor Waldorf will be throwing a party tonight that should be the event of the fall. Everybody who is anybody will be in attendance to her costume party, unless your last name is Van der Woodsen that is. So come and crush a cup of wine, maybe let out a few dirty secrets.

“Aha! This is what you need.” Dan exclaimed after reading the text.

“What?” Serena asked.

“We will crash the party. There will be prettiest woman in all of Manhattan there. Including your Rosaline. Doesn’t she go to Constance? You can either prove your love or find some new dame to keep you warm for the night.” Dan filled Serena in on his logic.

“Yes, but how will we get in?” Serena asked doubtfully though she eagerly sat up straighter at the prospect of seeing her objection of affections.

“Leave it to me sis.” Dan smiled.

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 15

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 2:21 AM

Blair lay pressed tightly into Serena more content then she had been in the last month. She had spent the last hour crying on the blonde’s shoulder over their break up which had been a huge misunderstanding. Blair knew that more needed to be said but for now she was happy to hold onto Serena as the blonde rubbed soothing circles on her back.

Serena caressed the small frame that lay calmly in her arms. But she knew better than to think it was all over. If she knew Blair, and she did intimately, then the brunette would definitely make her earn back her trust.

“I have been so lost without you.” Blair confessed breaking the silence.

“Me too.” Serena said quietly, gently kissing the brunette’s forehead.

“Why did you assume? Why didn’t you trust me?” Blair asked with her voice cracking with emotion. She was still very fragile.

“I, I just broke when I saw… I thought I had lost you. I wish I could just go back and do it all over again.” Serena said woefully.

“Why Georgina?” Blair choked out.

“I knew she would drive you away. I could not just be friends with you while you moved on.” Serena admitted. Blair nodded. Georgina always had a way of driving a wedge in between the two best friends. Blair had been competing for Serena’s attention since they were children.

“So much has happened Serena, how are we suppose to trust each other again?” Blair wondered. Serena thought a moment.

“Look Blair, I know I have hurt you very badly. And I don’t deserve to be forgiven. But I want you to know that I will never stop fighting for you.” Serena declared. The brunette considered Serena’s words. Both girls had been through hell. Yes, Serena leaving her had been devastating but she had to consider that the blonde had been in equal turmoil over Blair’s false betrayal. And she really could not go on living without Serena.

“I don’t want you to stop. I just think we need to take it slow. I am not ready to get back into our relationship but I could really use my best friend.” Blair said looking up at Serena with her big brown eyes.

“Okay.” Serena closed her eyes and nodded. She was slightly disappointed but at the same time thrilled that Blair did not send her away. The blonde had to resist the urge to kiss the girl was very difficult, especially when she was only scantily clad in her black underwear. The two girls gazed at each other longingly. Their faces were so close, Blair could just leaned up and her lips would be touching Serena’s. But that would not be taking it slow.

“We should go. It is getting late.” Blair said looking at the clock on the wall that said it was noon. Serena agreed as she sat up.

“Ow.” Serena exclaimed as she clutched her head, her hangover was suddenly hitting her with full force.

“Oh S, why have you been doing this to yourself.” Blair asked petting Serena’s hair watching her worriedly.

“I thought I lost everything B. I needed an escape…” Serena trailed off. She suddenly felt very guilty about her drinking. She could see it reminded Blair of the past when the brunette would get a call at 3 in the morning and have to pick her up from clubs and parties so of which were not in good areas. But Blair would always come pick her up and care for her all night, making sure that she did not have alcohol poisoning or worse.

“Just… It is just alcohol, right?” Blair asked somewhat timidly.

“Of course, I would never go back…” Serena stopped unable to say the words that both girls had eluded to: drugs. The blonde shuddered at the thought of going back to that. She hated herself for doing that to her and Blair.

“I know you wouldn’t, I am sorry I brought it up.” Blair was immediately apologetic as she could see the regret swirling in Serena’s blue eyes.

“I promise Blair, I will not get out of control again. I will never touch another drop again if you did not want me to.” Serena vowed.

“It is alright Serena. I know you have control.” Blair said reassuringly. As the brunette stood to look for her dress, her lack of body fat became more apparent. Her stomach almost appeared concave and Serena could see her ribs protruding.

“What about you Blair? Do you have control?” Serena asked scared by the walking skeleton that was in front of her. Blair quickly put on her dress, partially covering her thin body. She looked down as if ashamed.

“S, I hurt so bad. My world was falling apart.” Blair said as she began to choke on tears. Serena rushed forward, pulling the petite girl into a hug.

“And it was all my fault. But you have to get better and I will be with you every step of the way. You can defeat this.” Serena declared passionately. Blair had recovered once and she could do it again.

“What if I am not strong enough?” Blair asked in a small voice.

“Then I will be strong enough for the both of us. You are beautiful B.” Serena whispered into the silky locks resting on her shoulder.

“Thank you.” Blair said as she clung onto Serena who only nodded and continue to hold the brunette.

“Don’t hate me but I have to ask. Do you want to get breakfast with me?” Serena asked. It was a shot in the dark but she wanted to be there when Blair ate as much as possible. The blonde knew how much support that her friend would need, having done this once before, and she was going to be that support.

“I really should be getting back home… But we can pick something up on the way and eat there.” Blair offered when she saw Serena’s wilted look. The blonde perked up instantly that Blair would be eating and that she got an invite over to the Waldorf residence.

“Alright, let’s go.” Serena stood to get ready. All the blonde could think was how excellent today would be.

Spotted: What a party! N’s blow out was a huge success as usual. Though Queen G was on the dance floor without her leggy blonde companion. Uh-oh G, looks should not have left S unattended because she was seen out with our very own B buying croissants this morning, both still in last night’s patriotic outfits. Classy ladies. How long will these truces last before the next civil war?

Georgina glowered at her phone. The dumb blonde should know better than to cross Georgina Sparks. Quickly, her cruel mind formulated a plan to bring the duo down. But first she needed the ammo. It was no matter. She would bide her time, wait for them to slip up, then fire.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Chuck Bass flipped his cell phone shut with a broad smile on his face. With Blair and Serena’s relationship mended, he was sure that the petite brunette would stop her moping about. He never understood the effect Serena had on Blair but he could use it to his advantage. Now that Blair was better, he could move in and finally sweep her off her feet. She had been extremely closed off this last month but he hoped he could still worm his way back into her heart.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Gossip Girl has already spotted us.” Serena rolled her eyes as she flopped down onto Blair’s bed. The two girl’s familiarity was already rapidly returning as the blonde rolled onto her side of the bed.

“I see that. Slow day I guess.” Blair shrugged and handed Serena her croissant. At that moment, Dorota came into the brunette’s room, immediately fussing over the petite girl.

“Where have you been? You are still in last night’s clothes! Get out of that dress so I can send it to the cleaners. And what is she doing here?” Dorota asked about Serena as if she were not in the room. The Polish woman had taken to strongly disliking the blonde while she and Blair had been broken up. She was very over protective of Blair and Serena had betrayed her trust by breaking her heart.

“Serena is visiting Dorota.” Blair said in a slightly authoritarian tone. She then slathered blackberry jam that she had grabbed from the kitchen onto her croissant and pointedly took a large bite. Dorota stopped short as she watched Blair eat on her own accord for the first time in weeks, and something with so many calories.

“Hang the dress up and I will take it later.” Dorota mumbled with some grump. As much as she disliked the blonde, if she was getting Blair to eat then she could stay. However, she did send Serena a death glare before she turned on her heel and left the room.

“Sorry about her.” Blair said as she wandered into her closet to change.

“Don’t worry about it. I hate me too.” Serena said.

“Don’t say that.” Blair scolded from the closet.

“Yeah well, this was all my fault.” Serena mentally berated herself.

“It is no one’s fault. It is all a misunderstanding that got out of control. We can’t continue to blame ourselves and ask what ifs. It will ruin our chance of being together again.” Blair said firmly. They had to believe in each other in order to move on. Blair came out dressed in a purple tank top and gray yoga pants.

“I know, I am sorry.” Serena said. Blair just shook her head and took another bite of her croissant signifying that the conversation was over. They had enough drama to last them for a lifetime. Blair did not see the need to dwell on it any further. Not when they could be happy together.

“You want something more comfortable to wear? I am sure we could find something.” Blair asked. Serena nodded and Blair turned and began to rummage through her dresser drawer. Eventually she found a pair of Serena’s athletic shorts and a graphic tee with a peace sign on it that the blonde had left here sometime before. Serena slipped into the bathroom to change while Blair nibbled on her breakfast. The brunette was glad she had kept putting off purging herself of all of the things that were Serena’s, were given to her by Serena, or reminded her of Serena. Whenever Blair went to get rid of things, she could not bring herself to part with them. Being surrounded by Serena’s things had actually given her a little comfort when things were looking completely dark. And now she could not live without them once again with Serena back in her life.

“So what do you want to do?” Serena asked, as she emerged from the bathroom in her new outfit. The question barely registered with Blair as Serena’s slender, tanned legs that seemed to go on forever distracted her.

“Huh.” Was all Blair managed to say.

“What do you want to do?” Serena repeated her question with a shit-eating grin on her face as she realized where Blair was staring.

“I want to beat you in a pillow fight!” Blair glared playfully at Serena and she began to bludgeon her with a pillow.

“No fair! I am unarmed.” Serena said trying to dodge the soft blows as she grabbed her own pillow. Blair giggled with delight as she ducked out of Serena’s range, only to move in making several hits. Serena laughed and launched her own attack on the brunette. Eventually both girls collapsed onto the bed in a fit of laughter, tired from their play battle.

A week later, Chuck Bass was brooding over a glass of amber liquid. He had just received a Gossip Girl text declaring the whereabouts of Serena and Blair. He had been getting texts like this for the past seven days. Blair and Serena having lunch, Serena and Blair going shopping, at the museum, visiting the aquarium, eating ice cream in the park, and it went on. Blair was spending all of her time with Serena. He had barely spoken with her let alone seen her except in the picture attachments from Gossip Girl. He used to hang out with her almost every day but now nothing. Suddenly he was not needed anymore and quickly got kicked to the curb. He realized that Blair had missed her best friend but it seemed like overkill. He would have to make his own chance at asking Blair out on a date. Dialing Blair’s number, he waited for the object of his desire to pick up on the other end.

“Hi Chuck.” Blair greeted cheerily.

“Blair, it’s been a while.” Chuck said smoothly tapping into her guilt.

“Yeah it has…” Blair agreed. He could hear her discomfort.

“Well I was having a party this Wednesday, a Hump Day Party if you will, and I was hoping you would attend.” Chuck informed her.

“Yeah, Serena and I would love to go.” Blair said after a moment. She felt bad for not talking to Chuck especially after he had been such a good friend to her. Blair had just been so focused on repairing her relationship with Serena that she had let him fall to the wayside. By going to his party, she could begin to make it up to him.

“Excellent. It starts at ten.” Chuck said.

“Great. See you there.” Blair chirped into the phone as Chuck hung up. It should be easy enough to lure the brunette away from her blonde counterpart. Then it came down to wooing her, which proved to be difficult last time but that was over a month ago. Surely she could not resist him this time. After all, he was Chuck Bass, and Chuck Bass got what he wanted.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena entered Blair’s bedroom with a big bowl of popcorn as Blair was hanging up her cell phone. They were getting ready to watch a movie and not Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Somehow, the blonde had been able to convince Blair to watch Paranormal Activity with her despite the fact that normally the petite girl was petrified of scary movies.

“Who was that?” Serena asked as she sat on the bed.

“Chuck.” Blair said casually even though she knew Serena had malevolent feelings toward him. Her expectation was confirmed when the blonde made a disgusted face.

“What did he want?” Serena asked.

“He is throwing a party Wednesday and he wants us to be there.” Blair said getting ready to put on her pouty face. Serena groaned at the thought of going to Chuck’s and watching him try to hit on Blair who was completely obvious to his ulterior motives. Blair may not have feelings for him but she knew that Chuck still held on to some hope that they would get back together. Serena could see it in the way Chuck looked at Blair in the pictures she received from Gossip Girl during their break up. And why else would Chuck be hanging around a girl for so long without getting any action. He was not that honorable.

“Please S, he was such a good friend and I have neglected him recently. Please, I don’t want to go alone.” Blair begged in full pout mode. Her bottom lip jutted out in such an adorable manner and her brown eyes seemed to shine just so. Serena was helpless against it.

“You know I would not let you go alone.” Serena sighed, resigning herself to Blair.

“It will be fun!” Blair perked up quickly as she scooped some of the popcorn out of the bowl.

“If by fun you mean incredibly painful, then yes, it will.” Serena smirked.

“Oh stop being melodramatic and start the movie.” Blair laughed and lightly swatted Serena’s tanned arm. The girls settled under the covers and began to watch the movie. About 20 minutes into the film, Blair was already clutching at Serena and hiding her face in the nape of her neck. Serena had her arm securely around Blair’s shoulders feeling extremely good about the situation. She and Blair had not really been physically affectionate over the past week in attempts to take things slow. They had not really embraced since the morning that they woke up together. And nor had they slept over at each other’s houses.

“Oh! What is happening?” Blair asked as she suddenly buried her face into Serena once again.

“Why don’t you watch the movie?” Serena said as she tried to hide the fact that she was smiling.

“It happens to be scary. And don’t think I can’t hear that smile.” Blair said sounding annoyed but Serena knew she was joking. Patiently, Serena described what was happening on the screen to the cowering brunette. Eventually the movie ended and Blair began to detach herself from Serena.

“Sorry, I guess I can be a little jumpy.” Blair said laughing meekly.

“It is alright. But I guess I should get going.” Serena said as she looked at the time on her cell phone. It was nearing one and she was getting tired. She watched Blair yawn and figured that she would want to get to bed as well.

“Yeah… I suppose.” Blair nodded but she sounded unsure. Serena stood and stretched.

“I will call you tomorrow… Well goodnight.” Serena said as she headed for the door.

“Wait! You could just stay…” Blair called after her, making Serena turn back around to face the brunette.

“Are you sure?” Serena asked slowly approaching the bed.

“Yeah, the movie may have scared me a little too much.” Blair said sheepishly. Serena smiled kindly and got back into the bed.

“Don’t worry I will protect you from any ghosts or demonic possessions.” Serena promised as she settled down.

“Thanks, you are so chivalrous.” Blair laughed. She reached over to the lamp on her nightstand and turned it off.

“Ah, it’s nothing.” Serena said nonchalantly. An unusual silence fell over the room, as the girls rapidly began to realize how close in proximity their bodies were to one another’s. Out of the blue, Serena became very alert as she lay in bed with Blair, their bodies not touching.

“Goodnight then.” Blair said though she sounded nervous.

“Night.” Serena replied. The blonde anticipated a long night of lying very still and watching the gorgeous brunette sleep soundly next to her. Sure it was slightly creepy but she could still live with herself.

However, Serena was surprised when she felt a small hand slither over to hers and began to make patterns in her palm. Serena smiled and grasped Blair’s dainty hand in her own. The taller girl felt Blair turn on her side to face her so she did the same. Looking down in the dark, Serena could just make out a pair of brown eyes staring up at her. She could not be sure of what they were saying but they almost looked like they could be full of desire. Serena found out when Blair let go of her hand to cup her face. Blair moved forward very slowly, almost cautiously. Serena barely dared to move as the brunette deliberately brushed her lips softly against hers. Her brain finally clicked into action when she felt Blair’s pink tongue gently gaze her bottom lip. Serena grabbed onto the brunette’s waist and pulled her as close as she would get. The kiss became more urgent as the passion began to build. Blair nipped at Serena’s lip causing the blonde to moan. Serena’s hands were busy roving over the petite body in her arms. Blair whimpered and pressed herself closer to the taller girl. Unexpectedly, Serena became conscious of Blair pushing up her worn t-shirt, attempting to remove it. The blonde took Blair’s hands into her own and stilled her movements.

“Wait B, slow down.” Serena said as she pulled back a little, lightly panting.

“Why what is wrong?” Blair asked thinking she had done something. Her eyes searched Serena’s for any disgust or discomfort but she only saw loving blue eyes tenderly watching her.

“Nothing is wrong. And believe me, I want this so bad. I just don’t want you to regret this.” Serena explained as she caressed Blair’s cheek. She wanted to be completely certain that Blair was ready before they took any steps.

“Serena, this past week has just proven how much I have missed you. It feels just like before. I feel like us again. I love you.” Blair explained fervently.

“I love you too Blair. And I know, I feel it too baby. We just said we were taking things slow and this feels like a huge leap.” Serena tried to soothe the agitated girl.

“Serena, I don’t want to waste anymore time. Yes, we may have skipped a step or two but I don’t care. I just want you back Serena… All of you.” Blair said as she ran her fingers down Serena’s strong back. The brunette could see Serena giving in to her. She dipped down and began to kiss the smooth column of Serena neck. The taller girl inhaled sharply as she felt Blair suck on her pulse point.

“Waste not, want not.” Serena gasped before she pulled Blair up to give her a searing kiss. Clothing was swiftly discarded, as it became an undesirable nuisance. Their bodies melded as they reconnected after so long, losing themselves in the passion of the night.

Blair woke up in a haze with only the memory that last night had been mind-blowing. She could hardly tell which way was up and which way was down, only that her head rested on her companion’s chest which was steady rising and falling. Her entire body was protesting any movement being far to content to just lie there in the warm embrace in her lover’s arms. She was deliriously happy to feel the silky skin beneath her. She could have just slipped back to sleep but she felt Serena begin to shift signifying that she was waking up. Prying her eyes open, she found that couple had managed to turn themselves around, having their heads at the bottom of the bed. All of the pillows were mysteriously on the floor along with most of the blankets. The only thing that remained was the pristine white sheet that was impossible entangled around the couple.

“Morning.” Serena said her voice husky with sleep. Blair looked up into Serena’s eyes and smiled.

“Morning.” She aped back placing a kiss on Serena’s lips.

“Mmm, last night was unreal.” Serena said as the memories flooded back to her a huge smile forming on her face as well.

“Yes it was.” Blair agreed. She began to nuzzle into the blonde’s neck and her hand got busy under the covers.

“What are you doing Blair?” Serena asked as the brunette caressed her body.

“Don’t you want to make last night real?” Blair said into Serena’s ear, her voice low with desire.

“God I love you.” Serena groaned as she attacked Blair’s neck with her lips.

“I love you too baby.” Blair gasped as their love was ignited once again.

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 14

  • Dec. 18th, 2009 at 4:40 PM

Serena was able to avoid Blair with surprising ease. Her ex-girlfriend was in the habit of going out during the day. While she would normally be sleeping off her hangover all day long in preparation for the following night when it was the blonde's turn to venture out to the clubs and parties. However, the obnoxious texts from Gossip Girl that woke her up in the middle of the day to report sighting of the Blair, usually with Chuck, did not stop coming. Serena had her share of Gossip Girl shout outs as well. Even more so than Blair. Though hers were often pictures of herself dancing on table tops and not the quaint images of Blair and Chuck having brunch together.

It was nearly five o'clock. She supposed that Georgina would be over soon to force her to get ready for whatever event that the evil brunette had planned. As if on cue, Georgina waltzed in wearing red and white striped short shorts and a blue blazer with an Uncle Sam hat placed crookedly on her head.

"Up and at 'em." Georgina said tossing Serena antennas with glittery red stars on the top of them.

"What on earth?" Serena stared at Georgina confused.

"Please don't tell me you forgot it was the Fourth of July." Georgina rolled her eyes.

"Oh... right." Serena recognized. It was hard to believe that a month had gone by and she had not spoken to Blair. Time was flying by and yet Serena remained in her drunken rut, unable to move on from her ex-lover.

"And because it is the Fourth of July we put on red, white, and blue and go to Nate's Annual Fourth of July Party where we mix underaged drinking and pyrotechnics." Georgina said as if she were talking to a six year old. Serena nodded and pulled herself out of bed to be the mean girl's life sized Barbie doll.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Come on Blair. You have not been to a party all summer. We have to go to this one." Chuck pleaded into the phone with the ever solemn Blair.

"I don't know Chuck..." Blair said doubtfully letting her phone rest between her chin and shoulder as she finished painting her nails red. He was trying to convince her to attend Nate's Fourth of July Party. A beloved tradition by all Upper Eastsiders and the event of the summer. Blair had come up with a plan to avoid accidentally bumping into Serena which involved her being in bed by 8. Chuck had been badgering her for a month to attend a party but the brunette remained firm until now. She had loved going to Nate's party in the past and it was very tempting to attend. Blair had not seen Nate in a while which was another motivator to go. But the thought of running into her blonde ex-girlfriend filled her with dread.

"Come on, everyone will be there." Chuck said. That is what Blair was afraid of...

"Tell you what, the moment you are not having fun I will take you home myself." Chuck tried. Blair looked at Chuck carefully. He had been such a good friend to her these past weeks. She had toyed with the idea of dating him but could not bring herself to even hold his hand. Every touch was just a painful reminder that is was not Serena. So she just let him pass the time. Blair supposed he was going stir crazy with all of their G rated activities, thinking of the fundraiser she had dragged him to early that afternoon. The normally bad boy was probably dying to go to a party. Blair thought it would be best to show some gratitude and go to a party with him.

"Alright, it seems fun." Blair said plastering a fake smile on her face.

"Excellent. Now go get ready. I will pick you up in thirty minutes." Chuck said excitedly as he hung up. Blair set her phone on the dresser and moved into her walk in closet to find something to wear. She assumed it would be the normal red, white, and blue theme as she combed through her dresses. Before Blair could stop herself, she grabbed her red Prada dress that she had wore on her and Serena's first date. Instantly her eyes began to water and her hands began to tremble as they gently grazed over the fabric sending her a flood of memories from happier times. Blair shoved it back into place and took a few deep, shuddering breaths as she attempted to regain control over her emotions. Quickly she moved on, distracting herself by selecting another dress, this time blue.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena arrived at Nate's party with Georgina on her arm, her party girl persona in full swing already thanks to the whiskey sours on the way over. The willowy blonde was first greeted by Nate who hugged her with a dopey smile on his face, a sure sign that he was high as a kite.

"Serena, glad you could make it." Nate grinned completely ignoring Georgina who took off to the dance floor.

"I wouldn't miss this! It is always the party of the year." Serena slurred slightly.

"You have been partying up a storm recently." Nate commented. Serena could almost see the gears in his head turning like he was trying to put it all together. The partying, Georgina's presence, her drunkenness, it all pointed that something was wrong. If he asked her if everything was okay, she was going to end up a drunken crying mess before the end of the night. Fortunately due to Nate's drug hazed mind, he was unable to come to any conclusions.

"You like my antennas?" Serena asked distracting him with something shiny.

"Yeah they are awesome." Nate said checking out her patriotic outfit. Georgina had picked out a red and white striped tube top and a high waist blue skirt for her to wear.

"Well enjoy the party." Nate smiled as he wandered off to greet the rest of his guests. Serena sighed and made a bee line for the bar. She quickly mixed herself a drink. The tall girl turned, and leaned against the bar to survey the party. There were lots of people milling about with red cups and sparklers. Boys were doing keg stands in the corner while a group of people were enthusiastically dancing in the middle of the room. She wondered if she passed off as a happy-go-lucky party goer or if they could tell that it was all a charade and she just felt completely dead inside.

She doubted it. Looking at the self absorbed crowd she suddenly noticed a familiar form that made her heart stop. Blair Waldorf stood across the room from her talking to Chuck, stirring her martini and she was the picture of perfection. Her red pumps accentuated her slender calves and the dark blue silky dress she wore revealed just enough of her creamy thighs. The brunette accessorized with a red belt around her tiny waist and her trade mark red headband. Serena almost laughed at Blair's classy, white, Audrey Hepburn-esque elbow length gloves. It was her typical Blair. Though as she watched her ex-girlfriend she began to worry about how frail the brunette looked. Were those bags under her eyes or was it the way her chestnut hair hung around her face. The blonde began to wonder if she could go up and talk to the petite girl. Just to make sure she was okay of course. I mean they could still be friends or at least civil with one another. Only Serena could not get past the urge to punch Chuck in his smug face.

"What are you doing?" Georgina was suddenly hissing in her ear. Before Serena could answer, Georgina continued, "Do you know what going over there would do? It would unravel everything! Being friends with Blair will just drive you crazy. Do you really think you can handle just being friends with Waldorf?"

"I wasn't going to go over there. Sheesh." Serena lied. The blonde realized that Georgina was right. Seeing Blair everyday and not being able to touch her, kiss her, say I love you, would only cut her down.

"Yeah right. Now come dance." Georgina rolled her eyes and began to drag the lanky girl away but not before she could grab a beer.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Blair smiled as she stood with Chuck at the party. It had been a while since she had been to one and she had become accustom to quiet life style so she felt nervous in the crowd. Not that she revealed that to her peers. Her social standing had already taken a blow due to her fall out with Serena though it was the least of her worries now. So with her practiced air of confidence she hid all insecurity. While everyone was well on their way to being drunk, Blair could not bring herself to gag down the drinks. Even after the first drink she began to feel the alcohol traveling through her bloodstream, making her feel lightheaded. She feared more than anything to lost the control she fought for so hard to maintain everyday. She watched everything she ate, counted every calorie, purged her body of excess, and observed her body as weight slipped off her. But it was still not enough. Serena still was with that awful Georgina.

"Do you want to go dance?" Chuck asked. Blair looked at the throngs of gyrating bodies in the middle of the room. She loved to dance or at least she had when she thought she would only dance have to dance with one person for the rest of her life. Blair nearly gasped when she saw that very person dancing only twenty feet away from her. Serena was freely moving against some brunette that she had never seen before. Her blonde hair whipped around. Her toned body had developed a golden, summer tan. She looked wild and beauty just the way Blair had loved her, still loved her. It was surreal to be this close to the blonde and not be able to be with her. Something bothered the brunette though more than the sight of her ex-lover. Blair did not like the way Serena was gripping her bottle of beer. It reminded her of the way Serena had been before she had left for boarding school. She remembered the horrifying feeling of watching her best friend spiral out of control.

"Well?" Chuck interrupted her thoughts.

"Um, actually I have to go to the bathroom." Blair said as she slipped away from her companion and forced herself to not watch her ex-girlfriend. She was just not strong enough to face this reality without Serena.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Georgina tossed an intoxicated Serena onto a bed in one of the many spares rooms of the Archibald household. The lanky girl was giggling madly and trying to sing the lyrics of You Belong With Me from Taylor Swift. Georgina was getting tired of having to babysit the gigantic blonde. So she was ditching her date to go have her own fun.

"Now stay here." Georgina said as if she were speaking to a dog.

"Did you see how beautiful Blair was tonight?" Serena asked dreamily.

"Yeah, she looks like Skeletor." Georgina said dryly.

"What does that mean?" the blonde laughed.

"Just stay here with your vodka, okay? If you leave this room, no more vodka, alright?" Georgina said in a serious tone. Serena nodded at her with wide eyes as she clutched her bottle of vodka. She began to giggle once again as Georgina made her escape. After the brunette left, Serena leaned back on the bed and relished the relative silence around her, though she could still hear faintly her the thumping music. She brought the vodka to her lips and let the sharp liquid hit her stomach and kill any feeling she may have. The tall girl felt her eyelids grow heavy and she let them slip shut. Serena would have passed out right there had she not heard the door open or the tiny gasp emitted as the person entered. Serena lazily opened her eyes to see a petrified Blair standing frozen in the door way. The blonde sobered up a very little bit as she and Blair stared at each other from across the room.

Meanwhile, Blair was mentally kicking herself for picking the one room that Serena happened to be in. She had spent the whole evening carefully avoiding Serena and now she had stumbled into the very same rooms as her. The brunette had just wanted a moment of peace and quiet. As much as Blair wanted to turn and run, she could not manage to take her eyes off her once best friend. Blair could not explain it but now that she had gotten a good view of the blonde, she looked so beat down, wore out, sad. She had to stay. Unfortunately she could not think of anything to say so she just blurted out the first thought that came into her mind.

"You are drunk." Blair said.

"You are thin." Serena drunkenly shot back. Blair was taken aback for a moment.

"That is none of your concern." Blair said as a scowl fell upon her face.

"And why is it not my concern? Why can't it be my concern?" Serena asked angrily.

"Because we are not together!" Blair shouted, tears began to prick her eyes.

"Why are you doing this Blair?" Serena asked desperately trying to hold onto valid thoughts. She wanted to talk to Blair about her clearly poor eating habits but the alcohol coursing through her system was making it difficult. Blair stared at the blonde for a moment. It was quite the loaded question.

"You know why Serena." Blair said quiet, her demeanor becoming more subdued as she sadly sighed.

"No, no I don't. Please Blair enlighten me." Serena stood getting frustrated with the petite brunette. However, it turned out to be a very bad idea. The lanky girl was instantly dizzy her head swimming with alcohol. And then she felt it, her stomach rumbled in protest to all of the liquor it held. Blair saw Serena's once tanned face go pale and turn a sick shade of green.

"S the bathroom." Blair said urgently. The blonde rushed to the guest bathroom. Moments later Blair heard the familiar sound of vomiting. Blair stood there frozen unsure of what to do. If she stayed it would hurt her to be around Serena but she had to make she the blonde was alright. She pulled her hair into a ponytail and then gathered her strength to enter the bathroom.

Serena was busy emptying the content of her stomach so she did not hear the brunette come into the bathroom. She just jumped lightly as she felt a small hand on her shoulder but relaxed as Blair gathered her golden hair to hold it back.

"It is alright. Just get it out baby. Shh, it is okay." Blair soothed as Serena sobbed and puked. The brunette knelt on the bathroom floor with Serena until she was done vomiting. Blair made the taller drink lots of water and brush her teeth. She stripped the blonde of her sweaty clothes and dressed her in a night shirt that she found in a drawer left by some previous guest. It was almost like old times except for the extreme amount of hurt between the two of them. The pain did not quell the need for one another though. So when Blair tucked Serena into the large bed the blonde could not stop the words that came out of her mouth.

"Stay with me." Serena said holding onto Blair's small hand, her watery blue eyes begged desperately. The brunette could not refuse. She locked the door to avoid any drunk people barging into the room. Blair went to the other side of the bed and stripped to her underwear. She slide into the bed with surprising ease though she did not cross the invisible line that signified Serena's side of the bed. The pair laid as they had many nights in the past as best friend's having sleepovers. Blair smiled when a few moments later she heard Serena begin to snore, a behavior that only occurred when she was drunk. The petite brunette let the soft sound lull her into sleep as well.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena woke up with only a vague memory of what had happened last night and a splitting headache. She remembered dancing, then seeing Blair, then drinking, a lot, then puking, then Blair whispering soothing words to her. But that had to have been her imagination because her memory ended with Blair crawling into bed with her. And yet she was realizing that a small weight was on her chest and someone else's warm legs were intertwined with hers. Slowly, Serena cracked one of her eyes open to see a mess of brown hair and pale limbs surrounding her. The blonde was suddenly was wide awake. Some how in the night, her and Blair had gotten themselves entangled. It brought her so much joy to be holding Blair once again. The blonde tightened the loose grip she held on the smaller girls waist wanting to make the most of this moment. Serena frowned at what she found there. Blair's waist was always little but this was too little. Her grimace deepened as she ran her fingers up Blair's side feeling her ribs. The brunette who was oblivious to what was around her, sighed in her sleep and cuddled up closer to Serena who felt like she might cry.

Blair began to stir. Serena could feel the brunette's body tense up as she stretched, then relax once again. Despite the fact she was exceedingly thin, Serena admired her ex-girlfriend's smooth skin and gorgeous body. Finally Blair's deep brown eyes fluttered open. She looked up at the blonde and almost smiled before everything came crashing down on her once again. She had no right to be snuggling with Serena's lanky form. Though it had been a few seconds of heaven to be waking up in Serena's arms once more.

"Oh sorry." Blair said as she practically scrambled away.

"No worries." Serena tried to smile at Blair in a reassuring way.

"How are you feeling?" Blair asked politely.

"Hungover." Serena smiled ruefully before it fell from her face.

"Not surprising." Blair nodded. There was an awkward pause as both girls did not know where to go from there. Serena knew what she wanted to say. She did not know how appropriate it was to say it but she had nothing to lose.

"I am worried about your weight." Serena blurted out surprising Blair.

"Why don't you worry about Georgina's coke habit?" Blair said in her biting tone. Serena knew better than to bite back. She knew Blair was backed into a corner and she lashing out.

"Blair I know what you are doing, why baby?" Serena asked sadly.

"Why are drinking so much?" Blair shot back.

"We aren't talking about me right now." Serena said through gritted teeth. She was getting annoyed at how Blair was avoiding the question.

"Why should I have to share?" Blair said stubbornly. She was not going to give Serena anything.

"Is Chuck not treating you right? Is he hurting you?" Serena said as her annoyance turned to anger at the speculation the Chuck could be harming Blair.

"What? What do you mean? What does Chuck have to do with this?" Blair asked confused.

"You are dating him." Serena said like she were stating a fact.

"Serena I am not dating Chuck." Blair rolled her eyes thinking that she believed the Gossip Girl texts. Serena looked at her blankly for a moment.

"Blair you don't have to deny it. I saw you two kiss that day." Serena said hurt creeping into her voice.

"Yeah, he kissed me. But I told him it was too late for us and that I did not love him anymore. We are just friends." Blair said getting uncomfortable with the topic of discussion, it was hitting close to their own break up. She recalled never getting the chance to explain the kiss to Serena due to finding the blonde with her nemesis. Serena looked shocked and close to tears.

"You are not dating Chuck." she said.

"No I was never, I could never..." Blair confirmed. The brunette watched as Serena dissolved into tears.

"Oh B, I've been so stupid." Serena cried as she cupped Blair face in her hand. The taller girl should have known better. She should have known to trust Blair and not have jumped to conclusions. Serena sobbed for all of the bliss that she had lost, for all the pain she had caused. The blonde only hoped that Blair would forgive her. She had made such a huge mistake and she was not above begging. Serena reduced her tears down to sniffles as she as she slowly moved forward towards Blair's lips. The brunette just sat there frozen from shock as Serena's lips gently brushed hers. Blair felt her own tears begin to slip down her cheeks. She was so happy to be kissing Serena and yet she was so confused.

"Wait you are with Georgina." Blair suddenly pushed her away violently.

"No B, listen-" Serena began her loving gaze was really throwing Blair off.

"No you listen! You left me for that no account low life! You go crying to her." Blair said angrily though her tears gave away her sadness.

"No, Georgina and I are not dating. I let you believe that because I thought you were with Chuck, I saw you kissing." Serena desperately pleaded.

"What?" Blair stopped short.

"We have not even kissed." Serena promised.

"You- I-" Blair was hardly able to wrap her head around it. Completely exhausted Blair broke down as violent sobs wracked her body. Serena reached for the brunette but Blair jerked away.

"No, no-" Blair tried to speak but she could not catch her breath.

"Sh, I am so sorry. Sh, sh, come here baby." Serena said trying to hold Blair again. The petite girl attempted to push her away again but this time Serena did not stop. She grappled with Blair's hands until she got control of them and pulled Blair into her arms. The brunette may have been stubborn but she was no match for the blonde especially in her state. At that point Blair's wall crumbled. She balled up the fabric of Serena's shirt and held on tightly, pulling the blonde even closer. Serena held onto Blair with equal fervor. The blonde let Blair loudly cry her heart ache out while her own silent tears slipped down her cheeks, hoping that when the tears ebbed she could still hold the petite brunette.

Let me know what you think, I am trying to decided with or not Blair and Serena should get back together at this point. I would like to see what people think. Comments! Thanks!

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 13

  • Dec. 13th, 2009 at 11:53 PM

Blair stared vacantly from under the mass of blanket where had been laying unmoved for the past two days. She was not able to get up because it hurt too much. If she tried to leave the confines of her bed, then her head began to ache, she would become dizzy and nauseous at the thought of having to live not being in Serena's arms. So she laid very still, letting numbness settle over herself, trying to keep the tears at bay. At first whenever the brunette was conscious tears would be streaming down her porcelain cheeks but finally the tears had dried up as she became used to the feeling that there was a gaping hole in her chest. Blair came to terms with the fact that she would never truly be happy again.

"Miss Blair?" Dorota popped her head into Blair's room. The petite girl would have rolled her eyes if she had the energy to. This was the umpteenth time that her maid had come in pestering her.

"Miss Blair? Perhaps you should get out of bed. I will make you something nice to eat." Dorota said gently.

"I am too tired." Blair said flatly.

"Alright... I will bring you something to eat." Dorota said.

"I am not hungry." Blair said getting annoyed.

"Now enough of this Miss Blair! I don't know what is happening but enough of the moping. Now you need to eat!" Dorota said as she was becoming angry with the petulant brunette.

"Leave me alone Dorota." Blair said in her warning tone that normally sent anyone heading for the hills.

"Miss Blair you have not moved in 2 days. Does this have anything to do with Ser-" the Polish maid began to ask.

"Don't you dare say her name! And get the fuck out!" Blair interrupted the plump woman as she quickly sat up for the first time. Dorota could see the anger blazing in her brown eyes but beyond that the infinite pain the brunette was feeling. Deciding it was not a good idea to cross Blair, she scampered out of the room leaving the petite girl to flop back down on her bed, roll over, and return to her immobile state.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena was woken up by a sharp rapping on her door. With each knock, her head pounded with an intense pain. The blonde had forgotten how awful hangovers could be. Before she could even think about getting up, Georgina Sparks barged through the door making this particular hangover ten times worse.

"You have not been answering my calls." her voice was as sharp as her knock. Serena slowly sat up to address the crazy brunette.

"Sorry... I have been busy." Serena said lamely, shrugging her shoulders.

"I can see that..." Georgina said as she surveyed Serena's room, mentally counting the empty alcohol bottles.

"What do you want Georgina?" Serena asked getting exasperated.

"Now why do you assume I want something? Maybe I am just here to check on my very best friend." Georgina said in a syrupy sweet voice that made Serena cringe. The blonde just stared at her tentative ally waiting for a real response.

"Alright I came to get your ass moving. If you want to do this revenge thing right, you have to be seen around town with your new best friend." Georgina said with an overly chipper smile.

"I don't think I am ready for that." Serena said her eyes beginning to prick with tears. Georgina rolled her eyes.

"Listen Serena, you have to get back on that horse. You cannot let this bring you down because then Blair will win." Georgina sitting on the edge of the bed looking at Serena almost like she cared, however, that image was quickly shattered. "And you made a promise that I would be queen."

"You are right..." Serena reluctantly agreed despite Georgina's selfishness. She needed to move on even with the knowledge that she would never love anyone ever again. She supposed it would make it easier on Blair, if the brunette thought that she was okay.

"Good now go shower, you smell like vodka." Georgina said briskly leaving the blonde alone to get ready for the day. Serena sighed as she swung her legs off the bed. She already felt defeated and she had not even left her bed. Pulling open the drawer to her nightstand, she produced a bottle of vodka. She uncapped the booze and took a long hard swig to take to edge off before stumbling into the shower.

Forty minutes later, Serena finally emerged into the kitchen where she found Georgina chatting with her mother. The elder Van der Woodsen turned to Serena in mild surprise as she saw her daughter for the first time in two days.

"Serena, good to see you." Lily said with mild sarcasm. Serena only nodded, opening the refrigerator at grabbing a bottle of Evian. Lily continued, "Georgina was just telling me you two are going shopping today?"

"Yeah." Serena nodded again.

"Don't worry Lily, we won't go too crazy." Georgina said, laying it on very thick.

"Yes, well. Can I talk to you a moment alone?" Lily addressed Serena as she led the younger girl into the dining room.

"What is it mom?" Serena asked slightly annoyed at her mother's pushing.

"Is everything alright?" her mother asked.

"Yes, why wouldn't it be?" Serena lied.

"Well, I have been holed up in your room for the past two days and you are not seeing Blair. You two have been inseparable these past months." Lily said looking at her daughter concerned.

"Blair and I are not attached at the hip mom. Everything is fine." Serena said even though talking about her ex-girlfriend made her want to break down into tears.

"Okay... Well then have fun dear." Lily said uncertainly. At that, Serena quickly turned away to shield her emotions from her suddenly very observant mother.

"Let's go and get this over with." Serena said as she practically dragged Georgina out the door.

A low beeping caught Blair's attention. Her cellphone was glowing on her nightstand. Reluctantly she reached for it to read the message. When she saw it was from Gossip Girl, her stomach dropped with dread. Blair almost deleted the text right then, but curiosity got the best of her and she opened her phone.

Spotted: The bitch is back. G on a shopping spree with...S! And where is B? It seems like the queen has been replaced. Long live Queen G?

You know you love me,
XOXO
Gossip Girl

It came complete wish a picture of Serena and Georgina walking hand in hand and laughing with numerous shopping bags. Blair set her phone down and sunk further into despair.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena sunk into the couch.

"See that was not so bad." Georgina said as she looked at herself in the mirror, checking out her new dress. Serena's phone vibrated. She saw that her and Georgina's outing had been published by Gossip Girl. Wordlessly, the blonde grabbed a tumbler and whiskey downing a shot.

"Easy with that. You could at least wait until 5." Georgina said, looking at Serena dubiously as she poured herself another glass.

"It is 5 o'clock somewhere." Serena deadpanned, and then grabbed the glass and bottle she headed to her room.

"Right, well, see you tomorrow. We are going dancing." the brunette called after her. Serena raised her scotch in recognize before shutting herself in her room, content to be alone once more with her misery.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It is the third day of this meaningless existence Blair ideally thought. It is the third day without Serena. The third day without light. It was the third day that she felt absolutely nothing. The only comforting thought was the empty churning in her stomach signifying her hunger. It almost resembled control.

She drifted back into the dark abyss of her mind.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena was mindlessly grinding with the person in front of her. She had no idea who the person was but they had brown hair and almost smelled like Blair. If she just closed hers eyes she could pretend that it was her petite brunette in her arms and not some random stranger. The blonde was dizzy with alcohol. It had gained control.

She took another shot.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The fourth day Blair flipped onto her other side.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serena woke up with a start, her cell phone obnoxiously ringing.

"Hello?" she said groggily into the phone finally answering it.

"Where are you? We are suppose to meet for brunch!" an annoyed Georgina yelled into the phone.

"I thought brunch was on Thursday?" Serena said confused.

"It is Thursday and I have been waiting for an hour!" Georgina continued to exclaim into the phone. The blonde did not think she was going to make it, especially since she still felt tipsy for wherever she had been. Serena sighed. Six days without Blair. She wondered where Wednesday went.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A week slipped away from Blair. Dorota had force the brunette to bathe and put on clothes. The Polish woman had come into her room without a word. She just scooped up a surprised Blair in her arms and marched her into the bathroom. She then dropped the underwear clad Blair into the bathtub.

"Hey!" Blair cried out angrily.

"I don't want to hear it. You are lucky the water is not cold. Bathe, now. Or I will do it myself." Dorota threatened. Blair was going to bite back but realized she was far to weak to battle with the brutish woman. The disgruntled Blair sank back into the water in submission.

"I will make you something to eat you are too light." Dorota said briskly walking away before Blair could protest. Blair had to admit she felt better now that she was clean and in warm pajamas. She still felt like living death but at least she was no longer filthy. Sadly, her only life line seemed to be Gossip Girl with her constant updates with rumors about Serena. As much as it hurt to constant hear about the beautiful blonde, it also brought her a small feeling of calm knowing that she could still at least watch Serena from afar.

"Miss Blair?" Dorota asked somewhat timidly.

"Yes Dorota." Blair said blandly from her seat at her vanity expecting the maid to bring in a tray of food.

"You have a visitor." Dorota said making the brunette turn her head.

"Who?" Blair asked with little interest, wondering who would be visiting her. She was getting used to pushing through the pain and functioning as a normal person. Blair was fascinated that people could survive such intense hurt and still live through it. She had the proof in front of her as she gazed at her reflection.

"Mr. Chuck." Dorota tried to say the name without distain but Blair could detect a hint of malice in her voice. Blair thought a moment.

"Send him in." she said finally. She heard Dorota start to protest. "I said send him in." Blair said with more strength. The maid bowed out as she went to fetch the Bass.

"Hello." Chuck spoke softly. Blair glanced at the dark haired boy with little interest.

"What can I do for you Chuck?" Blair asked.

"Nothing at all. I was just checking in on you. I have not heard about you all week and then I learned that Serena was hanging out with Georgina of all people." Chuck said watching Blair carefully.

"It is not my concern who she is friends with." Blair said turning to face Chuck. Hearing the blonde's name stung more than she thought it would. The fragile girl could not bring herself to say it from fear of breaking down.

"You two had a falling out?" Chuck prompted her trying to get the full story.

"More or less." Blair remained elusive turning back to her reflection.

"Well if you need a friend. I will be here for you." Chuck said catching on that Blair was not going to be talking about it anytime soon. Chuck knew Blair. He could tell she was devastated. He did not really know to what extent but he knew better then to take the petite girl's cool exterior for face value. Chuck could see the mask and now he just needed to get under it. He figured this was the perfect opportunity to sweep Blair off her feet and win her back while she was in such a delicate state.

"Thank you Chuck." Blair was surprised at his kindness considering she had just blown him off. Normally Chuck's pride would not have allowed him to come back to her and yet he was in her bedroom offering his friendship.

"Well, I will leave you alone. Unless you want to grab dinner with me?" Chuck proposed.

"Let me dress." Blair said after a beat. The brunette knew that Dorota was going to make her eat anyways. The she also knew that her ever diligent maid would watch her eat and then guard the bathroom the rest of the night to make sure it stayed down. This way she could choose.

Chuck exited the room with a large grin on his face. He felt as though he had made some progress on trying to win back the stubborn Waldorf. At least she had not angrily stormed away this time. Chuck saw Dorota coming down the hallway, approaching Blair's room with a tray of what he assumed to be Blair's dinner.

"That will be unnecessary Dorota. Miss Blair will be going out to dinner." Chuck said in a snobbish manner. He never had much respect for employees, especially nosey ones like Dorota. He saw Dorota begin to retort but Chuck quickly interrupted her.

"That will be all Dorota." he said effectively dismissing her. The plump maid glared daggers at the ignorant boy and then huffed away indigently as Chuck looked on satisfied with her disapproval.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Forty-five minutes later Blair found herself in a fancy restaurant sitting across from Chuck Bass with what could be construed as a romantic dinner. And that is exactly what Gossip Girl thought as she read the text message that she had just received.

Spotted: It seems Chuckie is wining and dining a new lady or should we say an old one? C is out with none other than our very own B! And where have you been B? We've missed you so. To rekindling old flames."

You know you love me,
XOXO
Gossip Girl

"She thinks we are out of a date." Blair said with no humor. Chuck nodded looking up from his own cell phone.

"Is that a bad thing?" Chuck asked. Blair thought of Serena reading the text message. Would the blonde smile at the thought Blair was moving on? Or would she grimace, feeling a tiny twinge of jealousy. Or worst of all, would she simply not care.

"No it is not bad. Just not true." Blair stated as she mindlessly stirred her soup. Chuck was confused by her apparent apathy to everything. It was not the overly happy, calm that the brunette got when she was hurt or angry. It was beyond that and it was beginning to scare him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
When Serena saw the photo of Blair and Chuck out to dinner, it nearly drove her mad with jealousy. They were sitting in the front window for everyone to see. In a fit of rage, the blonde threw her bottle of alcohol cross the room. It shattered on her closet door, releasing the liquor like a bomb. Panting heavily, Serena regretted her decision now no longer having her little comfort. The blonde stormed out of her room and headed for the liquor cabinet. She grabbed a random bottle and slipped on her gladiator sandals. She continued her rampage as she left the apartment. She emerged onto the side walk and let her pain propel her forward. This was the first time she had to face Blair and Chuck as a couple since their break up. It was driving her crazy thinking about Chuck caressing Blair's face, whispering in her ear, holding her close.

Serena walked until she was across street from the restaurant she had seen in the photo. She saw for herself Blair sitting across the table from Chuck. The blonde collapsed onto the bus stop bench and cracked open her bottle, taking a few satisfying gulps. She watched as Blair talked to Chuck and smiled at him. It was hard to read Blair from this distance. If she could get up close she could read Blair like an open book. All Serena could do was wonder from a distance why the brunette looked so subdued. And worry at the way Blair simply shifted her salad around with her fork. Serena continued to secretly watch the couple, drowning her sorrows in the bottle of a bottle. The blonde could not help but think how beautiful Blair looked. Tears began slipping down her cheeks as she mourned for what she had lost. Suddenly a black car pulled up to her. The tinted window rolled down and revealed Georgina.

"Get in the car loser." she ordered.

"What are you doing here Georgina?" Serena sighed.

"I got the Gossip Girl text and figured you would do something stupid. You want to get arrested for public intoxication while you play Peeping Tom on your ex?" Georgina asked. Serena stood and took one last look at Blair. She saw the brunette excuse herself to the bathroom. Her heart dropped, fearing the worse for the petite girl. Did she look thinner?

"Move it!" Georgina demanded. Serena reluctantly got into the car hoping that Chuck would at least take care of Blair the way she deserved to be.

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 12b

  • Nov. 24th, 2009 at 4:22 PM

Blair nervously paced around her bedroom. She had called Serena three times and left eight text messages in attempts to get in contact with the taller girl. The petite girl's mind was swirling with worst case scenarios, things that she would not dare say aloud for fear that it may be true. She tried to rationalize the situation, telling herself that she had and overactive imagination but she was still going crazy with worry. It was only five o'clock. Blair had two hours before her fears would be calmed and she did not think she could handle it. So the brunette slipped on her heels and grabbed her purse as she rushed out the door, needing to make sure Serena was okay. Blair walked briskly down the hall, her heels rapidly tapping against the marble, as she made her way to the elevator.

Traffic seemed to be at a crawl to Blair making her even more anxious. But the driver made it to Serena's apartment in record time and the brunette quickly hopped out of the vehicle, immediately rushing inside the building. She ignored the courteous smile of the doorman and accidently bumped into a woman who had draped herself in fox furs as she walked through the lobby. Blair did not have time to address the angry glare of the woman or even critique her fashion choice. The petite girl had only one thought in mind and that was to see Serena.

Blair caught the elevator which was over crowded with people. Every time the elevator stopped on a floor to let its passengers off, the brunette groaned inwardly as it added time to her mission to get to her blonde girlfriend. Eventually the elevator emptied and Blair continue her ascent to the top of the building alone.

As she stepped into the hallway, her stomach was a jumble with nerves. Half of her wanted to go back to her apartment, and tell herself she was silly for being such a worrywart but the other half, the louder half was yelling for her to check on Serena. And she had already made it this far. Almost tentatively, she knocked on the door. She braced herself, waiting for a teary-eyed Lily to answer the door or Eric with tear stained cheeks. There was a long pause as Blair stood in the hallway holding her breath. Blair let out a frustrated sigh and almost turned to leave when the door swung open. Blair's heart lightened significantly as she saw Serena standing there in her bath robe.

"S!" Blair exclaimed bounding forward and wrapping her arms around the blonde's neck. The brunette expected for Serena to hold her back, to kiss the side of her head, to laugh at the unexpected surprise of having Blair at her front door. And yet, the blond stood stiffly in the threshold to the apartment, not reacting to the petite girl's embrace. Confused, Blair pulled back slightly to get a better look at Serena and she was shocked at was she found. In her excitement to see the blonde, Blair had not noticed the solemn expression that masked Serena's beautiful features. Her mouth a grim line, her cheeks somehow seemed more hollowed, and her eyes. It scared Blair to look into Serena's blue eyes and see such darkness and pain churning in them when normally they were oceans of light. What had happened to her Serena since this afternoon?

"S... What is the matter? I have been trying to get a hold of you." Blair asked her voice laced with concern.

"Nothing is the matter. My phone just broke." Serena said shrugging her shoulders, her tone bland and uncaring. She made no move to let the brunette into the apartment.

"Are you sure? You seem..." Blair could not pick a word. Broken, she thought but did continue the sentence. Serena was speaking again.

"Nope everything is fine." Serena said. But Blair could tell she was lying through her teeth.

"Okay... Well, do you still want to pick me up at seven? Or we can hang out until then?" Blair said uncertainly but Serena still not moving into the apartment. All relief she had felt upon seeing Serena was slowly disappearing as it was slowly being replaced with a new fear.

"Yeah, about that. I can't tonight. Something came up." Serena said in an almost biting tone. Blair wrinkled her brow surprised at Serena's sudden cancellation. The blonde was being elusive and moody and Blair did not know what to make of it.

"Alright. How about tomorrow? I can call and move the reservations." Blair said pulling out her phone.

"Tomorrow is no good either." Serena said staring a Blair blankly with her dead eyes.

"What are you doing S?" Blair asked hurt edging into her voice.

"You know what Blair, I can't do this anymore." Serena said her voice aggravated as if the brunette was an annoyance. Blair felt her heart stop, her eyes began to sting with tears, there seemed to not be enough air getting into her lungs.

"Wh- What are you talking about?" Blair gasped.

"I mean, I think we should see other people." Serena said harshly. Blair could not tell if she was standing anymore, her head was spinning as her heart broke into pieces. The brunette could hardly believe this was happening. Just a few hours earlier they had been so happy and in love. Blair felt everything she ever dreamed being ripped away from her.

"No- S, why are you doing this?" Blair choked out her eyes brimming with tears.

"Who are we kidding? This was a mistake." Serena said looking away from the petite girl. Before the taller girl could look away, Blair saw Serena's eyes accumulating tears as well. She saw the blue eyes filled with love and anguish as her resolve wavered.

"You don't mean that! Please Serena-" Blair exclaimed getting ready to get down on her knees and beg for the blonde not to leave her when another voice interrupted her.

"S?" the letter chilled Blair to her bones as she recognized the voice. Blair watched in horror as an arm snaked around the blonde's waist. Serena opened the door a little bit more to reveal Georgina Sparks who was similarly dressed in a bathrobe.

"What are you doing out her when all of the fun is in the bedroom?" Blair's nemesis cooed into the blonde's ear.

"No... I." Blair thought her legs were going to give out as she stared at the hideous sight in front of her. She literally backed away in disgust.

"Oh Waldorf, I did not know you where dropping by." Georgina said coyly.

"Perhaps you should go Blair." Serena said her cold mask of indifference settling back on her face.

"Goodbye Serena. Sorry to have wasted your time." the brunette tried to compose herself despite the fact she had tears streaming down her cheeks. Once the odd couple had retreated back into the apartment, Blair let out a sob as her legs gave out. She felt pain clawing at her insides, her head pounded with each sob that wracked her body. Blair shakily stood up knowing that she needed to get out of there. Summoning the elevator, she stepped on and tried to calm herself on the way back down. She was able to silence herself but the tears kept coming. She ignored the stares that she received as she back tracked through the lobby.

"It is rude to stare." Blair practically snarled at the woman she had accidently bumped into just moments before. The woman looked away promptly and smoothed out her furs. Blair burst out onto the city's sidewalk and made a beeline for her town car.

"To the penthouse and keep your eyes on the damn road." Blair barked her orders at the driver. Sufficient scared, the man immediately followed his instructions and drove Blair home. She opted to use the back entrance unable to face the world one more time. The distraught brunette was able to make it up to the apartment while avoiding anymore curious stares or piteous faces. Even better, she found that she was home alone. Eleanor and Cyrus busy with work and Dorota probably out running an errand. She dropped everything in the foyer and headed straight for the kitchen. Blair did not understand how she was still alive considering the pain she felt. She might as well have a gaping chest wound considering Serena had ripped out her heart and crushed it.

Blair needed something to dull the pain. She needed to be in control again as she raided the refrigerator. Finally her eyes landed on a tray of cupcakes, freshly made by Dorota. Blair looked at them, their icing an alluring pink with rainbow sprinkles topping them off. She pulled the whole tray and began to devour them one by one until they were all gone, forgetting everything as she focused on eating. Blair realized what she had done 15 minutes later when all of the cupcakes were gone. Immediately she ran for the bathroom, her stomach bloated with all of the food she had eaten. Assuming her practiced position in front of the toilet she purged the grotesque feeling churning in her stomach. Blair knelt there and vomited until only her stomach bile came up. Satisfied that it was all gone, Blair collapsed by the toilet and allowed herself to cry once again.

Her fairy tale had evaporated into thin air. She had lost everything. Blair felt as though she should have known. She should have known that she would never have been good enough for a goddess like Serena. She was no match for the tall, slender beauty. She was too short, too pale, too fat to have someone like Serena Van der Woodsen. She knew that now. But why Georgina? Blair had spent her entire competing with Georgina. She did not know why she had such a strong hatred for the other brunette. But they fought each other for everything, the best grades, the most popular, Serena's attention. Mostly Serena's attention and Blair thoughts she had won. She thought that the tall blonde was finally completely hers. Knowing that Georgina and Serena were together made her feel sick. She would have vomited again if her stomach had not already been emptied. Eventually Blair weakly stood up. She could not be caught by Dorota crying on the bathroom floor. The Polish woman would immediately be suspicious and Blair did not want to be bothered. She went to the sink and stared at her reflection with loathing. You messed this up Blair thought to herself as she began critiquing the image in front of her. The brunette thought her eyes were too close together, her lips were uneven, her nose was too small for her face, and clearly she was too fat. The beautiful petite girl tore herself apart until she became a monster in her eyes.

Blair brushed her teeth to erase any of the evidence she had just emptied the contents of her stomach from her mouth. Carefully she removed the make up and tears that marred her gorgeous face. She then left the bathroom and began to strip down. Unceremoniously, she dropped her dress onto the floor and tossed her headband into the corner. Not bothering with her usual silky pajamas, Blair crawled into her bed in her underwear, curling up into the fetal position under the large comforter. The brunette let her tears continue to fall as she fell asleep from exhaustion, falling into a dark oblivion.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Serena shut the door on Blair. It was the hardest thing she had ever done. It was even more difficult than leaving Blair the first time after she had slept with Nate. The lanky blonde had almost given in when she saw the pain and tears in Blair's eyes. Her voice had been so distressed Serena would have caved. But it would have only been a fleeting moment to hold Blair in her arms. The brunette would have left her and she would never be able to touch Blair again. Serena was beginning to think it would have been a good idea to embrace Blair once more but Georgina had been there.

After Serena had pulled herself together and let the anger take over, she had stormed to her house telephone. Dialing the number she had memorized from her adolescents, Serena impatiently waited for the other end to pick up. Serena could not tell if calling Georgina would be a good idea or a horrible mistake but she was blinded by the rage and the pain. She just wanted Blair to feel the devastation that she felt and she knew that Georgina was Blair's kryptonite.

"This is a surprise." a cool voice on the other line answered.

"Georgina, I need a favor." Serena said through gritted teeth which was met with cruel laughter.

"And why would I help you." Georgina asked.

"You... you can be the queen." Serena said knowing that Blair would topple off her pedestal if she began to support Georgina. There was silence on the other end for a moment.

"And what can I do for the girl that has everything?" Georgina purred.

"Just come over." Serena ordered hanging up hoping that she had lured the girl in enough. Serena found out fifteen minutes later when the dark haired girl appeared on her doorstep.

"Now S, I am willing to help you but you need to tell me more. I am assuming that I am here to bring Waldorf down?" Georgina said in a business like manner.

"We are breaking up and I need you to make sure she never comes back to me." Serena explained.

"Alright, and how do we do that?" Georgina asked assuming that a plan was already in place.

"If I know Blair, and I do, she will becoming over sometime this afternoon after I do not answer her phone calls. You're job is to make her believe we slept together." Serena said.

"What?! You guys are actually dating? I thought that "breaking up" was a metaphor!" Georgina exclaimed in surprise.

"Blair and I have been dating recently but I found out she is still in love wit Chuck. You can try and out us but I think you will find that difficult considering we are breaking up. Option two, you can help me." Serena said a hint plea in her voice. The blonde waited as she watched Georgina weigh her options.

"Alright, when is Waldorf getting here?" Georgina asked, agreeing to Serena's scheme. It was only a matter of time before Blair came around and suddenly it was over. She had broken up with her girlfriend. Serena felt as though she was going to hyperventilate. She wanted to throw open the door and run after Blair. She wanted to hold her and tell her that she was not going to let go, that she would never stop fighting for her.

"Let her go." Georgina's voice broke into her conscious. Her voice was abnormally soft, almost as if she cared about the blonde. Serena could only nod as she slowly moved away from the door, dragging herself away from her heart. In that moment, she was glad that Georgina was there. But the moment was brief.

"I have never seen Waldorf so... weak." Georgina said a gleeful smile spreading across her face.

"Out!" anger erupted from Serena. She did not need to hear Georgina bashing Blair or the relationship that had brought her so much happiness. No matter how hurt she was, she would cherish the happiness that her petite brunette had once brought her.

"Alright, touche." Georgina said as she sashayed out of the room to get dressed. A moment later, she came out fully clothed.

"Are you sure you don't want me to stay? We can braid each others' hair and play spin the bottle." Georgina winked.

"Leave!" Serena had enough of the mean girl's mockery.

"Okay, just remember, you need me. Call you tomorrow S!" she said with false sweetness. Serena growled slamming the door after Georgina but she could not deny the brunette's words. When Georgina called tomorrow, she would answer. Serena found herself completely exhausted. Emotional drained, she listlessly wandered into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine from the refrigerator. She then shut herself in her bedroom to drink herself to sleep.

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 12

  • Nov. 12th, 2009 at 6:46 PM

Serena sat at her high school graduation feeling surprisingly at ease. Her classmates were all around her chattering nervously as they waited for the ceremony to start. But Serena felt confident in her future. She was going to Brown, Blair was going to Yale, and they had an entire glorious summer to enjoy each others company. Blair, however, was not relaxed. She was quite the opposite as she sat next to Serena, fidgeting in a very un-Blair like manner with a faint crease of worry in her brow.

"What is it B?" Serena asked trying to convey a calming tone.

"What is what?" Blair asked looking around distractedly.

"Babe you are on the edge of your seat." Serena said as she watching the brunette wring her hands together. The blonde placed hers over top them in a soothing manner so that Blair halted her movements.

"I don't know. I just feel... like something is wrong. Like something bad is going to happen." Blair admitted as she visibly tried to relax, leaning back in her chair.

"Like what?" Serena asked confused.

"I don't know... Do you think I am crazy?" Blair asked unsure of herself.

"Never. You are probably just anxious to graduate." Serena reasoned running her thumb over Blair's smooth skin.

"Yeah. Maybe." Blair reluctantly agreed, her eyes still shifting about the room.

"Hey." Serena said softly drawing the shorter girl's complete attention. "It will be okay. Whatever it is, things will turn out alright."

"I know. Thank you." Blair smiled softly at her girlfriend thankful to have her there. Serena smiled back thinking she had done an adequate job of reassuring the brunette. But when she turned away, Blair's smile drooped a little. She desperately wanted to put a brave face on for the blonde but something felt wrong. Like she had experienced some sort of premonition and knew something bad was going to happen in the future. She decided to take solace in the fact Chuck had chosen to skip out on graduation and start his romp around Europe a little early. In the past weeks she had noticed Chuck leering at her, even the thought of it made her shiver in disgust. Blair did not want to worry Serena today though. Not when she was so happy and carefree. So the brunette pushed those thoughts aside and tried to join Serena in celebration despite the feeling her perfect world was about to fall apart.

"Dear friends and colleagues, as we stand her today, we bear witness to a bright new beginning." the dean began her speech honoring this years seniors. Serena turned to Blair with a big smile which the brunette genuinely returned. It was rather exciting and despite Blair's feeling of foreboding, she was thrilled to be departing from high school.

"I am so glad that this is over. I am tried of these games and so sick of Gossip Girl." Blair said under her breath as she tuned out the inspirational speech the dean was giving.

"Yeah, but now we get a clean slate. We can start over together." Serena whispered back.

"You are right. College will be different. No more deceit, just me. And you, of course." Blair said feeling comforted by that thought of being able to start anew.

"It will always be me and you, B." Serena smiled. Blair had to resist the urge to kiss the blonde. Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by her cell phone beeping, accompanied by the various tones of her classmates cell phones, meaning it could only be one person, Gossip Girl. Blair hesitantly opened her phone to read whatever scathing text the nosey mystery person had sent.

Not so fast. You're not graduating until I have given you my diplomas. Mine are labels, and labels stick.
Nate Archibald: Class whore
Dan Humphrey: The ultimate insider
Chuck Bass: Coward
Blair Waldorf: Weakling
And as for Serena Van der Woodsen, after today, you are officially irrelevant. Congratulations everyone, you all deserve it.

You know you love me
XOXO
Gossip Girl

Blair was aghast, leave it to Gossip Girl to spoil their day. What did that mean anyway? She was a weakling. It was true that Nate was the Class whore, he was notorious for sleeping with everyone but her, especially leggy blondes. Dan, despite trying to retain his better than thou poor status, had become just another rich kid. And as far as she was concerned, Chuck was slime and deserved a far worse title than weakling. Blair figured she deserved it. She had spent her entire high school career hiding behind a mask and terrorizing those around her with her schemes. The brunette had never been strong enough to go for what she actually wanted, until now. Blair was finally able to accept the love from Serena despite the possible judgement and persecution they may face when the truth about their relationship came to light. Blair felt as though she could face anything with the tall blonde at her side. The brunette looked over at Serena who looked equally baffled. Serena's label did not make since either. There was no way that the gorgeous blonde would fade into obscurity. She was too beautiful, too charming, too tenacious to be ignored.

"S? You alright? Don't listen to that gossip monger. She could be further from the truth you know. You are going to go on to do great, important things." Blair asked gently.

"I am alright B. You are my world, you know that. And as long as we are together, I am relevant. I know that as long as you love me, my life will have worth." Serena said her eyes shining.

"Oh S, you make me so strong." Blair said her voice cracking slightly. She wanted to fall into the taller girl's arms but had to resist.

"I know baby. I am just sorry that this slander gets to be spread about you. And on our graduation. I wanted today to be perfect, not marred with this grief. I want to bring down Gossip Girl." Serena said her anger bubbling to the surface.

"Don't worry about it. We can rise above this." Blair said placing a comforting hand on the blonde's shoulder.

"You're right. We should not let her bother us." Serena groused making Blair giggle.

"Aw, just remember, before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." Blair said .

"Aha! You have gone soft. There was a time when you would jump at the chance to bring down Gossip Girl." Serena exclaimed with laughter.

"Have not! I just know revenge is a dish best served cold." Blair shot back emulating her old self.

"Ha, ha, that is my Blair." Serena smiled.

"Yes well let's forget about it and let the rest of the class worry about our "labels". Blair said decidedly.

"Whatever you say B." Serena said extremely proud of how well Blair was handling the whole incident.

"Ugh, I can only imagine how lovely the after party is going to be." Blair said, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she thought of how all of her classmates would stare and whisper about them behind their backs.

"How about we skip the party? I made reservations for us at Jean Georges. Then we can go do whatever we want." Serena wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

"I like the way you think Van der Woodsen." Blair agreed.

"Now please stand and honor the class of 2009." a voice said in the distant but Blair and Serena were too engrossed in one another to care.

After graduation ended, the graduates went out to be greeted by their friends and family. Serena and Blair had planned to say a quick good bye and then duck out but things rarely go as planned. Instead Serena had got sucked into family things.

"I am sorry B but I have to go with..." Serena said with guilt tinting her voice.

"Don't worry about it S. I understand the need for family time, especially with yours in these fledging stages of change." Blair said honestly.

"Maybe you could come with us. After all, you are a part of the family." Serena said hopefully.

"That is alright. I have my own dysfunctional family unit to attend to." Blair said ruefully, still needing to find her mother and Cyrus.

"Alright, well, I will pick you up at 7." Serena said placing a chaste peck on Blair's cheek.

"Okay, I love you S." Blair said quietly.

"And I love you B." Serena smiled and then departed to have some family bonding. Blair's heart sank a little as she watched Serena walk away. The feel that something was amiss took over her once more as she left the safety of Serena's presence. Chocking it up to anticipation for the evenings events, Blair quickly found her mother and Cyrus in the crowd.

"Blair there you are. Congratulations." Eleanor said with a formal air.

"Thank you mother." Blair responded blandly.

"It was a lovely ceremony Blair." Cyrus chimed in.

"Yes it was." Blair agreed standing there poised as though she were speaking to a head of a foreign state. Blair hated how her relationship with her parents felt like a business arrangement. Her mother bought her off with money and freedom and in return Blair was to get good grades and not embarrass the family. Blair was expected to attend Eleanor's formal affairs and charity events and so Eleanor was expected to be at Blair's important events. Though Eleanor was known to flake and therefore was fined with some grand gift. Blair was on the lower end of importance on the list of her mother's clients.

"Well I have to be off dear, there is an important board meeting today." the older women said giving Blair a brief hug. Before Blair had a chance to reply her mother was leaving dragging along a waving Cyrus, who was oblivious to Eleanor's constant abandonment. Blair scoffed. She should have known there was going to be no happy family moment. No party for her because she had gotten into Yale. Not even a good job. Blair considered trying to find Serena and her family but they had probably left so she opted to walk home. She could use the time to think.

Blair wandered down the street walking the few blocks to her apartment building. She would miss the city while she was at college, the skyscrapers, the shopping, the night life, her friends, and Serena. Mostly Serena. It seemed impossible that she would have to go weeks at a time without seeing her girlfriend.  But they would be busy with school, making friends, maybe joining a sorority. They would take turns visiting each other on the weekends. Time would pass quick enough and then they could start their lives back here in New York. Blair had it all worked out. What she and Serena had is what forever was made out of, they were just meant to be. Blair indulged in a goofy smile as she thought of spending the rest of her life with Serena. She was approaching the entrance to her building when she noticed an unwelcoming site waiting for her there. The smile on her face fell as did her stomach as her eyes fell on Chuck Bass, his arms laden with flowers and other presents. The sense of foreboding sky rocketed as she slowly approached the dark haired boy.

"Why aren't' you in Europe?" Blair asked mentally wishing the boy away.

"I was, in Paris, to pick up your favorite macaroons. And Germany to pick up your favorite fall stockings." Chuck said as he presented her with the boxes. He was really laying it on thick Blair thought. She was filled with more dread as she realized why Chuck was back in town.

"But why are you here?" Blair asked feigning ignorance.

"Everywhere I went Blair, you caught up with me." Chuck said in a moment of honest, which was rare for the Bass family.

"Chuck, no-" Blair began.

"No listen, Gossip Girl was right. I was a coward for running away but I do not want to run anymore." Chuck interrupted.

"It is not that simple. My feeling have... altered." Blair said shaking her head. Did Chuck really think he could waltz back into her life and sweep her off her feet? Chuck had hurt her with his abandonment. She only loved one person enough to forgive for such an abuse of her trust and that was Serena. No amount of presents were going to change the heart break she had suffered at his hand, even if it had not already been healed by Serena.

"But Blair, I love you." Chuck stated thinking he had sealed the deal, finally uttering those words that Blair had once pleaded to hear from him. And yet Blair remained firm, sadly shaking her head at the brown haired boy.

"But I don't love you anymore." Blair told him as she handed back the presents he thought he had graciously bestowed on her. Chuck gaped at her momentarily stunned before he turned to anger.

"Who is he?" Chuck growled. No one told Chuck Bass no. He was not taking rejection well as his fury grew.

"There is no he Chuck. You cannot expect me to have waited for you. You left me Chuck. You denied me." Blair snapped, her small brow furrowed, her infamous glare set in place that would send most of the Upper East Side running, tails between their legs.

"Well then, this won't matter." Chuck said as he suddenly grabbed Blair's waist pulling her in for an unexpected kiss. Blair was shocked to have his rough, demanding lips on hers. She and Chuck had kissed before but now it paled in comparison to the kisses she had shared with Serena. His stubble scraped against her cheek uncomfortably, he was to overwhelming and Blair could not take it. She managed to push him off her, immediately wiping her lips trying to erase the feeling.

"Don't do that Chuck." Blair's voice sounded dangerously angry as she quivered with revulsion.

"And why not?" Chuck asked.

"You don't have the right. Goodbye Bass." Blair said storming away. The audacity of him to kiss her as if she were not taken. Though he did not know that, Blair recognized as she tramped through the lobby to the elevator. As her anger ebbed, the feeling was replaced with fear. She needed to tell Serena about the incident obviously but how would the blonde react to the event. Surely she would understand all things considered. After all, she had been kissed. It was not as if she had kissed Chuck back. Still she was filled with worry. As the elevator arrived at the penthouse, she pulled out her cellphone to text the tall blonde.

S, we need to talk. in person. i love you -B

She hit the send button and anxiously waited for a response from Serena. However, after ten minutes there was still no reply. Blair decided that Serena was still busy with her family or not near her phone. She was desperately trying not panic as she paced around in the apartment, and yet she could not help but fear the worst.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Serena had managed to escape the clutches of family bonding earlier than she had thought. Pictures were taken, hugs exchanged and the Humphrey - Van der Woodsen clan had disbanded. Serena loved her family very much but there was only so much time she could spend with them. Now she was on her way to surprise Blair with an impromptu visit. She could never get enough of her girlfriend. The blonde walked around the corner to Blair's apartment building and stopped short at the sight in front of her.

In an instant, her world was coming crashing down around her as she watched Chuck Bass kissing Blair in the middle of the sidewalk in the glorious sunny afternoon. She could only bear to watch for a brief moment before she quickly turned on her heel heading back the way she came. But the image was burned into her head. It was all she could see as she numbly walked away from the pair, running from the ache that was growing in her chest. Serena was blinded with the pain. She thought Blair was hers and she was Blair's but she was wrong. It was all a lie. Serena had just been a place holder, a warm body to satisfy Blair until Chuck came back to her. In Serena's addled mind, every promise of forever, every kiss, everything was a joke and she was the butt of it. She should have known that the bliss was too good to last. Serena found that she had made it back to her apartment. Robotically, she went to her room and locked the door. Her phone beeped indicating she had received a text.

"S, we need to talk. in person. i love you -B." she read. Suddenly she screamed and threw her phone across the room shattering it into pieces. The willowy blonde then collapsed on the ground sobbing, assuming that Blair would want to discuss their break up. Serena already felt her heart disappearing as she cried on her expensive Persian rug. Slowly the tears faded and the tall girl hardened herself. If Blair wanted a break up, then she would get a break up.

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 11

  • Oct. 21st, 2009 at 5:56 PM

The first thing Serena noticed when she woke up was the gentle weight that rested on her shoulder. Forcing her eyes open, she peered down to see a mess of chocolate locks resting there, sunbeams fell into the room cast a golden glow over them. Serena broke out into a big grin as she remembered the events of last night. Everything thing had gone according to plan. Even better than she had planned considering she woke up with a very nude Blair curled up by her side. She could get used to this, waking up with her girlfriend partially on top of her, their legs hopelessly intertwined. Serena began to stroke Blair's soft hair, hoping the touch would wake the petite beauty. She wanted to look into those deep brown eyes. It worked as the blonde felt Blair shift against her. A soft whining noise came from the back of the brunette's throat as she stretched in a feline manner but she had yet to open her eyes. Serena tried a different approach.

"Blair, wake up." she requested quietly.

"No." the brunette said stubbornly.

"Come on, I want to see those doe eyes." Serena coaxed running her fingers down Blair's bare back, stopping at her waist where the sheet began to cover the brunettes curves. Blair cracked one eye open to see the blonde pouting in an adorable manner.

"Okay..." Blair smiled as she opened them fully to look into Serena's blue ones.

"Hey beautiful." Serena said as she leaned in placing a loving kiss on Blair's lips. Blair blushed happily.

"Hey yourself." Blair murmured back.

"How are you feeling?" Serena asked.

"Fantastic." Blair said with an indulgent grin causing Serena to laugh.

"Yeah? Why is that?" Serena asked. Normally Blair was anything but a morning person.

"Because I woke up next to you." Blair replied sweetly.

"Well, that is cause for a celebration." Serena joked. Blair scoffed and gently slapped Serena's arm in an admonishing manner.

"But really S, last night was... heaven." Blair purred.

"I'd say." Serena agreed whole heartedly.

"I love you." Blair whispered.

"I love you too." Serena said back to her in the same hushed tone. Quickly their lips found each others as their passion was renewed. Blair began to lazily stroke the blonde's toned stomach. Serena was completely relaxed as their tongues leisurely caressed one another's.

"I need to take a shower." Blair stated abruptly pulling away from Serena, leaving her confused. Blair quickly stood and Serena instantly missed the warmth she had provide. The brunette took her time as she sashayed across the room. Serena sat on the bed dumbfounded as she watched Blair's naked form move away from her. The sight of the petite girl's exposed backside sent jolts of pleasure through her body that settled low in her stomach. Blair paused in the door way of the bathroom.

"Are you coming?" she asked, sex dripping in her tone. Blair disappeared, leaving Serena agape. She quickly snapped out of it and scrambled to join her girlfriend. She could definitely get used to waking up like this.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Blair Waldorf jumped up and down excitedly as she let out a high pictched squeal. Dorota came racing into the room with worry etched in her face.

"Miss Blair, what is it?" Dorota asked.

"Dorota! I got into Yale!" she exclaimed still grasping her acceptance letter firmly in her hand.

"Oh! How wonderful!" Dorota said with equal excitement and joining Blair the the jumping. The two women hugged in celebration.

"I am going to call Serena." Blair declared grabbing her cell phone and pulling away from her maid. The phone rang three times and Dorota departed before the blonde picked up.

"Blair what is it? Are you alright?" Serena asked groggily but her voice still held some urgency.

"I am better than alright S. I got into Yale!" Blair told her girlfriend gleefully.

"Are you serious? B, it is 8:30 and Saturday. I mean I know out letters are coming today but it is so early." Serena half whined.

"I know but I sent Pierce out this morning to the post office with an undisclosed amount of money to get the mail." Blair admitted sheepishly. The anticipation had been killing and she had not been able to sleep. Finally 7 o'clock hit and she decided what was the point of being obscenely rich if she could not get what she wanted. So she sent out the driver to retrieve the mail before the sun even had a chance to rise. And she was very glad she did. Though she did regret waking up Serena a little bit having forgot herself and the time. But only a little bit. She could her Serena chuckling on the other end of the line.

"Of course you did." Serena said sounding more awake and calmer.

"I am so happy S." Blair gushed. Everything in her life was perfect right now. She got into the college of her choice. Graduation was around the corner. And most importantly, she was blissfully happy with her girlfriend of 2 months.

"I am happy for you. You deserve it baby." Serena said warmly.

"Thank you. Now I can make Rachel pay." Blair said her tone adopting a conniving nature. The brunette could practically hear the blonde roll her eyes over the phone.

"B, is it necessary? I mean, I know she gave you a B but do you want to jeopardize your standing at Yale?" Serena asked genuine concern for Blair's future evident in her voice.

"But she was mean to me." Blair pouted. She and her teacher were at a battle of wills and it definitely had taken a turn for the worse when the young professor had given her the first B she had ever gotten. But she was tired of this fight and her interest was waning. She was much more content these days to snuggle up with Serena than plot against people.

"I know. But I would hate to see you get in trouble and end up having to go to NYU." Serena said knowing that Blair was standing down. The brunette shuddered at the thought.

"You are right. I suppose I will just have to let her live." Blair sighed. Serena laughed.

"You are a merciful queen." the blonde teased.

"I know, I think you have made me go soft." Blair blamed the taller girl.

"Ha, never thought I would see the day." Serena said.

"Yeah well don't go spreading it around." Blair groused.

"Never." Serena promised.

"Okay well, I will let you go back to sleep." Blair said apologetically.

"No, I am up. I am coming over and crawling into bed with you." Serena told her.

"That is alright, just go to bed." Blair urged though she very much wanted to see the blonde right now.

"I will bring croissants." Serena stated ignoring the brunettes statement.

"Okay, I love you S." Blair said sweetly.

"I love you too." Serena said before hanging up. Blair settled herself down on the bed, excitement still trilling through her body. As she laid back against the pillows, waiting for Serena, she thought of all the wonderful things in store.

Twenty minutes later, Serena crept into Blair's room which was unusually quiet considering the conversation she had just had with the petite girl. The blonde smiled instantly finding Blair asleep on her bed having completely exhausted herself.

"It figures." Serena muttered to herself as she set down a white bakery bag containing Blair's favorite croissants. They would have to wait because Serena was eager to climb into bed with her lover. She took off her shoes and shed the jeans she had put on, leaving her in a simple white t-shirt and her striped underwear. Serena took a moment to appreciate the brunette's beauty. Her brown curls fell haphazardly around her face, her pink lips in a perpetual pouts, long dark lashes covered her beautiful eyes. The blonde could see the petite girl's curves through Blair's purple night gown which rode up slightly revealing some of her creamy thigh.

Serena carefully got in the bed behind Blair. She wrapped her arm around the slim waist before her and placed her chin on Blair's small shoulder. The brunette did not wake up but as if she sensed Serena's presence she relaxed into the figure behind her and let out a contented sigh. Serena smiled as she let her eyes drift shut to catch up to her girlfriend in sleep.

Prologue:
Two households, both alike in dignity
(In fair Manhattan, where we lay our scene),
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their leave,
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Doth with their departure bury their parents' strife.
The fearful passage of their forbidden love
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children’s love, naught could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage—
The which, if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

Nobody

Blair Waldorf sat slumped in a chair her head resting on the cool marble surface of the vanity before. Her small body slightly quaked as she quietly sobbed out her heart ache. It was the first moment of peace she had all day. Finally being alone allowed her thoughts to consume her which she found too much leading her to tears. Blair pushed the emotions down and looked up at her reflection. She was a mess. Blair assigned herself the task of fixing her make up, trying to forget the turmoil brewing in herself. She focusing only on reapplying her eye make up and ridding herself of any blotchy red marks. Blair finished and looked at herself critically. Her eyes were slightly red still but other than that she looked as perfect as she had moments before. She plastered a smile on her face having perfected the art of faking a smile over the years. She thought of the one person who could see through the mask but found it too difficult for her heart to bear. Instead she watched her reflection carefully, curious about how whether she was smiling or not, her eyes remained dull and lifeless.

"Ready Blair-bear?" her father asked entering the room. His voice grated against her nerves. It was far to happy for Blair considering the circumstance. But Blair turned to her father with that practiced smile.

"Yes." she said trying to get her voice to mimic her father's tone. After all, it was her wedding day. The happiest day of her life.

Heart aches, on your wedding day, double takes when they look my way
Knees quake, there ain't a shot gun in the place
You like the frostin', you just bought the cake your eyes can't fake
Still in love with nobody and I won't tell nobody

Blair watched as her brides maids marched down the aisle before her in their red satin gowns with little interest. She had detached herself from the events surrounding her in order to cope. Her body was there complacent and smiling, but her mind was running, madly in denial that she was going to go though with this. Everything was absolutely perfect from the church to the flowers to the dress to the groom. Blair had spent the months before acting like a crazy person ensuring that this day would be flawless only to realize she had looked over a detail. The bride was a hopeless wreck.

"Our turn Blair." her father said quietly his instant smile bothering Blair. Never the less, she followed her father as she heard the Wedding March start and the congregation rose to greet the bride. Blair began her duty march down the aisle. The brunette looked like the blushing bride she should as she walked past the rows of her guests. Smiling and bowing her head the way she rehearsed. But on the inside she felt as though her father was dragging her down the aisle kicking and screaming.

Suddenly Blair's body froze, she thought her heart was going to beat through her her chest, her legs did not feel as though they could not support her weight. All pretense was abandoned as she spotted a distinct long mane of blonde hair in the middle row, positioned at the very end of the pew. Sure she had sent out the invitation, but more as a warning, a way to let the blonde know what was happening. What she did not expect was for Serena Van der Woodsen to actually attend her wedding. And yet, the lanky blonde stood there watching her through dark shades. Blair felt all of her feelings for the blonde that she thought she had repressed flood back. Serena stood out from the her lavish surroundings and the other guest dressed in their finest, as she had opted to wear a black leather jacket and a white vee neck t-shirt with dark washed skinny jeans tucked into a pair of black riding boots. She could not see the tall girls eyes but she sensed the blue-pools were trained on her and her alone.

Her falter only lasted a moment before she reestablished her facade and continued toward her future husband. She could not still love Serena Van der Woodsen.

The bride-groom drags you 'cross that room
Said 'I do' but honey you were just a kid
Your eyes said I did, still in love with nobody, nobody, nobody
And I won't tell nobody

Serena watched as Blair walked down the aisle. Her heart still fluttered at the sight of the brunette. She was gorgeous in her white dress. Serena momentarily left herself imagine that the brunette was traveling to her, she pretended that she was the one taking Blair's hand in marriage. But that was a dream that had passed. They had fought too much, and hurt each other too often. Their had shone so bright yet burnt out so quickly. So Serena had done what she did best, she disappeared. And now Blair was walking into the arms of another and it was almost too much for the blonde to handle. Serena had seen the petite brunette waver. Blair's eyes had always given her away. So when the blonde looked into the brown depths, she knew without a doubt that Blair was in love with nobody. Something Serena wanted to remedy.

As the service continued, Serena fought to stay in her seat. She desperately wanted to object to the union of this man and woman. She wanted to stand up and announce that this "hole-y" matrimony was a hoax that they should all quit their charade and go home. But she could not bring herself embarrass Blair who would have been mortified if Serena spoke up. It only got worse as they exchanged their vows, promising to love each other forever and put the cap on the toothpaste. Serena watched as Blair's eyes welled with tears, everyone else assuming they were tears of joy. However Serena knew better. Blair cried for her lack of devotion, for her confusion, for her lost love. The blonde's misery peaked as the groomed kissed the bride. Serena felt as though she was going to be physically ill as she was forced to watch Blair kiss this strange man, now her husband.

The husband and wife merrily exited the church and everyone stood to go throw birdseed at them but Serena had a different plan. She went to her new motorcycle to go to the reception. The shiny black bike had been an impulse buy. While Blair had been finding solace in the arms of another, Serena had been traveling the world and picking up new hobbies. She tired to fill the gaping whole in her heat where Blair had been with things and experiences. But she found herself back at the Upper East Side, still trying to fill the void. Now she realized that the only thing that could complete her was Blair.

Take a look on your wedding night
In your wedding book see what name I signed, hey

Blair and her new husband ran down the church steps heralded with congratulations and bird seed. This is a stupid tradition Blair thought as she shielded herself from being pelted with the tiny projectiles. She glanced at her new husband, blissfully unaware of his new wife's malcontent. And we have not even gone on their honeymoon yet Blair thought ruefully. They finally reached the shelter of there car. Her beau laughing brushing seed out of his hair. He turned and gave Blair a crooked grin but it was not the smile she wanted to see. He leaned in to kiss her but she instinctually turned her cheek.

"Is everything alright?" he asked confused by Blair's behavior. She heard the hurt tainting his voice. Part of her wanted to roll her eyes and tell him to stop acting so infantile. But she shoved that urge down and turned to him with a small smile.

"Of course." she lied then forced herself to kiss him. But it felt wrong. His lips were too rough, his smell was not right, his stubble grating against her cheek. She settle back in her seat as they went to the reception were their marriage would be celebrated, her friend and family unknowingly rubbing her sorrows in her face. They did not know that she was in love with nobody.

Love nobody, nobody, nobody
Then nobody, nobody nobody
Nobody, nobody, nobody

Serena arrived at the reception before the happy newly weds. She had no intentions of staying watching the festivities. To watch Blair dance in the arms of some man was like a personal hell for the blonde. She just went to sign the guest book. Flipping to the back she scratched down her entry. As she turned to leave, the doors flew open as Blair and her husband entered the grand hall. She halted all movements mesmerized by the stunning brunette. She saw Blair stop as well who looked like she had seen a ghost. Her husband looked at her concerned by she quietly told him to go on and she would catch up. The man with dashing good looks continued into the ballroom leaving the two girls alone.

"What are you doing here Serena?" Blair asked keeping her distance.

"Watching my best friends wedding." she said.

"Bull shit." Blair whispered.

"What do you want me to say B?" Serena asked.

"Don't call me that." Blair said harshly. Serena could see the anger flaring in her big brown eyes, letting it override her pain.

"Sorry Mrs. Banks." Serena bit back.

"No, you don't get to be angry. You were the one that left." Blair growled.

"I am sorry Blair. I was young and stupid. I still lo-" Serena began. Blair's hands flew to her ears.

"Please no. Just go. I can't, I can't." Blair abruptly interrupted as she began to crumble before the blonde. Serena almost reach out to the small bride. She wanted to hold her again and tell her it would be alright. But instead, she respected Blair's wishes and turned to leave. She paused in the exit before leaving Blair with a final thought.

"I know you love nobody." she said quietly before ducking out of the hall.

Hips shake to the band for old time sake
Now you make your get away
And you're waving to the stage
But on the last page

Serena's words echoed with Blair for the rest of the evening. Even after she pulled herself together and rejoined her husband, the blonde haunted her. Blair recalled the painful memory of the last time she had seen Serena. They had been having one of their blow outs which seemed to be happening more often then not those days. It had started as such a petty argument that had snowballed into a huge shouting match. Blair could not even remember  what had evoked the fight that had sent the couple careening over the edge; She just remembered her extreme hurt and anger.

"This is bullshit Serena! You are never here anymore! Do you know how awful it is going to bed, not knowing where the hell you are?" Blaire shouted angrily just one of the list of complaints she had.

"Maybe I would be here more if you were more fun to be around!" Serena bit back cruelly. Blair was stung but she covered it by emitting more anger.

"Not fun? What do you want me to do? Make you balloon animals?" Blair yelled.

"You always do that! You discredit my feelings. You treat me like I am nobody. I am your girlfriend Blair! Not one of your lackies!" Serena erupted. Blair's eyes blazed with anger. Serena knew she did not manipulate people anymore. Not like she did in high school. She was establishing real connections, getting real friends.

"Maybe you aren't my girlfriend anymore, it does not seem like you want to be. Maybe you are just nobody to me!" Blair had ranted but in had only been in the moment fury. When Serena had quietly left after that, she thought that the blonde would be back eventually. They need time to cool off but then she would return and they would talk it out and apologize like they always did. But the blonde never came back. There was no phone call, no goodbye, no letter, just her disappearance, leaving Blair to sob heart ache out and wonder all on her own. Because the truth is Serena was her everything.

Blair did not even know how she got to this point as she sat at her wedding reception watching as the people around her celebrate her unholy matrimony. She observed the toasts and listened to how they would live happily ever after. She danced with her husband, supposedly the first of many. She tossed her bouquet into the sea of rabid brides maids. But her thoughts never left the tall blonde. She had to wonder, if this was her life now. Always comparing her spouse with the golden beauty of her past. Her husband confused why he could never measure up to the brunette's standard no matter what he did. She imagined them growing old together, growing bitter, learning to despise one another.

Finally the party was over and her husband was leading her away to go to some honeymoon sweet of some fancy hotel where they would consummate their marriage. Blair shivered with disgust at the thought shoving it out of her mind as Blair waved goodbye to her guests. Blair thought it would be more appropriate to bow considering the performance she had just given.

"I know you love nobody." a voice whispered in her head.

Love nobody, nobody, nobody
Then nobody, nobody, nobody
Nobody, nobody, nobody

Blair flopped on the lavish bed in her big white dress. She lay perfectly still, physically and emotionally exhausted from the day. Her eyes scanned the room decorated with red roses, her wedding gifts stacked in a table, having been delivered there. She wanted nothing more than to slip into sleep and not have to deal the her handsome husband. She watched as he loosened his tie and removed his shoes. He was good looking, successful, charming, loyal, rich even. Why can he not be enough Blair wondered.

"I am going to hop in the shower. Too much dancing." he said stupidly smiling, unknowing his wife never really loved him.

"Okay." Blair said sitting up.

"I love you." he said believing it, at least for now.

"You too." Blair mumbled as he disappeared into the bathroom. She could not even say it anymore. The sudden reappearance of Serena had turned Blair's world upside down. How could the blonde still have such an impact. She was over the taller girl she thought. But it sounded like she was trying to convince herself. Blair distracted herself with the gifts. She slumped into a chair at the table and picked up a box rattling it slightly. Coffee pot. Taking another, she shook it. Toaster. The bored brunette then noticed her wedding book. Idly she flipped open the book reading the names of her guests and their words of congratulations. It all meant nothing. Blair still felt painfully empty inside. She turned the pages until the end. Barely reading, until she recognized a familiar scrawl. Her heart nearly stopping, as she realized it to be Serena's loopy hand writing. Blair almost snapped the book shut, wanting to ignore the entry completely. But her heart would not let her. She tentatively read the words before her.

I still love you.
I will wait for you.
-Nobody

Blair felt an unexplainable wetness slipping down her cheeks. Soon she recognized them as tears, not having realized she had started silently crying. She attempted to wipe them away but more kept coming. She finally admitted to herself that she could not live this life. Blair knew she could not not ever love anyone, more than she loved Serena. It was unfair to her and her husband. Her heart ached to be with the blonde. Despite the time and distance between them, her love for Serena had not wavered and she could not be without her anymore. They loved each so fiercely and yet had caused each other the most pain. The brunette had been so afraid of her feelings, so afraid so accepted such an undying love, that she had pushed Serena away. But after all this time, she realized that she could not live without it anymore. Blair suddenly had to get out of there. She rifled through some drawers finding a pen. On the page with Serena's message she wrote one word. Sorry. Slipping off her wedding bands, she fled from the suite, blindly running, not caring of the consequences that would follow.

That you're still in love with nobody, nobody, nobody
And I used to be nobody, nobody, nobody
Anymore more

Serena leaned up against her bike outside the hotel. She wondered if the new couple were wrapped up in each other's loving embrace. Serena felt her anger rise as she thought of this man caressing Blair face, looking into her eyes. Blair was hers. He had no right. And yet he had every right. Blair was his wife. The brunette belonged to him now. The jealously was almost too much for the blonde to handle. She imagined Blair would not get her message until the next day. Or even after that. But she wanted to be there. Serena meant it, she would wait.

And then, as if a dream, a petite brunette in a large white gown emerged from the hotel, clearly distraught, blindly looking for something. The bride looked close to tears, her hair was slightly mussed as strands feel down around her face. Her dress caught in the wind almost making the blonde think it was a ghost. And yet still achingly beautiful. Serena was amazed for a moment, before she snapped out of it.

"Blair?" Serena called out. The brunette's attention focused onto the blonde in surprise.

"Serena? What are you doing here?" Blair asked confused. Serena did not know exactly how to answer.

"Waiting." Serena said. At that, Blair fell into Serena's arms as she dissolved into tears.

"I cannot do it. I cannot pretend anymore. I love you S. I always have." Blair stuttered between her sobs.

"Oh B, I love you too. You don't have to pretend anymore." Serena choked out her owns tears falling.

"I know that we've messed this up. I know that there has been pain but you are the only one who can make me happy. I love you, can't that be enough?" Blair asked looking into the blonde's blue eyes.

"It is enough. I promise you baby, we will fix this. We are worth the fight. Our love is enough, it is the only thing. I am so sorry for leaving. Every day was agony without you." Serena told the brunette.

"I am sorry for pushing you away." Blair murmured into the blonde's shoulder. Their tears began to dry up and Blair pulled away slightly so they could gaze at each other lovingly. Finally, Serena closed the distance between them, as their lips met in a passionate kiss. Their lips gently getting reacquainted. Serena finally found what she had been looking for right back were she started kissing her gorgeous brunette. Her emptiness finally filled with love once again.

"God, I love you so much." Serena whispered reverently as they parted.

"I love you too. Take me away from here." Blair requested quietly. Serena nodded and led her brunette to her motorcycle. Blair laughed at the sight but allowed Serena to help her on the vehicle. Serena felt the brunette hold on tight to her waist as she revved the engine then took off into the night with Blair's dress billowing behind them in the wind. As they drove through the city, picking up speed, Serena felt as though nothing could touch them ever again. It felt as though the worries and the fears slipped away like the rapidly passing scenery. They were enveloped in their own world as reality became a disoriented blur. And Serena knew when they stopped she would still have Blair and they would still be untouchable.

Neither woman knew what the future held but they knew that they would be loving each other happily ever after.

Serena had never been this happy. She had been waltzing around on cloud nine for the past week. Everything with Blair was going so well that she could not help but walk around all starry-eyed. The petite brunette was much better at hiding her new found feelings. Which was probably for the best. They both did not need to be walking around grinning like fools and humming love songs. But just because Blair did not walk around like a lovesick adolescent did not mean that she was not completely invested in the relationship. Serena could see it in how she acted when the couple was alone. She hear it in how the brunette said 'I love you' and feel it in the way she kissed her. And Blair wanted Serena to be close. All the time. More often than not, Serena was sleeping over at Blair's penthouse. Just sleeping. Blair was not ready to take the next physical step in their relationship. Which the blonde understood and respected. Whenever the blonde inched her hand too far up Blair's skirt she could feel her girlfriend stiffen and pull away. Blair would apologize profusely and explain she did not want to rush things. Serena would comfort her and tell her it was alright. She would kissed Blair into silence and then they would usually fall back into their make out session. There were many a times in which the desire for Blair was left burning between her legs. But for Serena it was enough to simply be able to kiss the brunette. Serena desperately wanted to kiss her girlfriend now but they were in school making it very difficult.

Serena was extra giddy today because she had a trick up fashionable sleeve. But first she had to find Blair. She found her in the courtyard directing Kati and Isabel who sat clinging onto Blair's every word. Serena smiled wider. Blair really was a natural born leader. Serena quietly approached the three girls so that Blair did not notice the blonde's presence until she slipped her arm around the brunette's waist. Serena smirked as she felt Blair jump slightly but otherwise did not stop talking. The beautiful thing about the couple's relationship was that as best friends they were already very physically affectionate with one another. So Serena could touch Blair as much as she wanted to in public without raising any suspicions. And suspicions would have been raised otherwise.

"Hey B." Serena said once Blair stopped talking to her minions.

"S. Being creepy today?" Blair teased.

"No more than usual." Serena retorted.

"Kati and Is were just saying how we never have girl's nights anymore." Blair said with a tight smile. Serena was sure that the topic made Blair uncomfortable. She and the brunette had plenty of girl's nights in the past week. Just not the kind were others were invited.

"Really? How about on Friday we all go bowling? Just the girls." Serena said trying to hide a smirk.

"Um, busy on Friday." Kati said instantly in a panic.

"Yeah, family plans." Isabel chipped in sounding horrified. There was no that either girl was going anywhere near bowling shoes and Serena knew that. Serena could see Blair holding in a fit of laughter at how quickly Serena was able to change the tune of the two girls.

"Aw, well that is a shame. I guess it will just be me and Blair on Friday." Serena shrugged pretending to be disappointed. Serena glanced at the brunette who was smiling gratefully at the blonde. Serena was all too happy to oblige to Blair's unspoken request. She wanted Blair to have everything. Plus it worked perfectly for the plans she already had.

"A shame." Blair repeated.

"I am going to the bathroom. B?" Serena said pulling away from the brunette hoping to lure her away.

"Me too. See you in English." Blair addressed their two friends, meaning they were dismissed. Blair slid her arm through Serena's arm as the blonde lead her away.

"Bowling?" Blair questioned with a giggle, once they were out of hearing distance.

"Yeah, I figured they would not want to go near shoes that multiple people have wore." Serena laughed.

"And I would?" Blair asked.

"Come on, we could buy you your own pair. You would be so cute." Serena joked.

"As if." Blair smirked. Serena dragged Blair into a bathroom that was in a more remote part of the school. She quickly checked all of the stalls to ensure that they were alone. The blonde was thrilled to find that the restroom was completely empty as she turned to the brunette who was smiling at her.

"What?" Serena asked smiling back as pulled the brunette back into her arms.

"Just you. You are so cute." Blair said wrapping her arms around the blonde's neck. Serena grinned wider. She leaned down and planted a kiss on the brunette's pouty lips. As soon as their lips touched, the blonde could not help but deepen the kiss as her tongue found Blair's, leisurely stroking it. Blair moaned slightly increasing the pressure of their lips. Eventually the two girls parted, needing to catch their breath.

"I have wanted to do that all day." Serena said.

"Me too." Blair whispered before placing a brief kiss on Serena's lips.

"So what are you doing on Friday?" Serena suddenly asked.

"Not bowling?" Blair eyed her suspiciously.

"Good. I have reservations." Serena said revealing her plan that Blair had not known was in place.

"Reservations?" Blair asked perplexed.

"Reservations. You see, I realized that I have been a completely atrocious girlfriend and not taken you out on a date." Serena said.

"A date?" Blair said her eyes lighting up and a smile gracing her lips.

"Are you going to repeat everything I say. Yes an honest to God date." the blonde teased.

"Sorry. It was just unexpected." Blair blushed.

"I want you to expect me to take you out to dinner then go dancing where no one knows us so I can hold you in my arms for the rest of the night. So what do you say?" Serena explained wanting Blair to know that she was there for her.

"When will you pick me up?" Blair asked.

"7." Serena answered with a smile.

"Perfect." Blair leaned into the blonde for a hug.

"We should go or we will be late to class." Blair said moving away from Serena.

"I don't want to go to class." the taller girl pouted. She wanted to take Blair home and spend some quality time with her curled up in bed.

"Class." Blair said avoiding the pout which was nearly impossible.

"Fiiiine." Serena groused drawing out the word as Blair lead her out of the bathroom.

It was a long week for Blair Waldorf as she impatiently waited for Friday to come. All week whenever she thought of her and Serena's impending date, she broke out into a moony grin. She suspected people thought that she was crazy. Not that anyone asked her about it because everyone was too afraid to ask. Serena had an affect on her that made her act like a giggling school girl, which should have been normal behavior, but not for Blair. She had always acted like a 30 year old since she was 6. Dorota told her that constantly. Her sweet housemaid had commented on her abnormally chipper mood, hoping the brunette would divulge her secret. But Blair was not ready to let this secret go. Still she knew that her dear maid noticed a change in Blair and would eventually get to the bottom of it.

6:38. Blair was completely ready for her date. She had gotten home from school and showered. Then agonized about what she should wear for an hour. Calling Dorota in and out, trying to casually ask the Polish woman what she thought of a certain outfit. Eventually she settled on the red Prada dress she had bought with Serena, recalling that the blonde liked it very much. Now she sat in front of her vanity with her hair and make done. She wore minimal eye make up but had used a bright red lipstick to match her dress. She had curled her hair then pulled it all away from her face in an elegant up-do so that her back was revealed. She kept checking for an flaws anxiously waiting for Serena.

"Where are you going Miss Blair? Looking so beautiful." Dorota asked hovering in the door way, though Blair did not know for how long.

"Just out with Serena." Blair said trying to place a impassive mask over her face.

"Oh?" Dorota said sounding surprised as Blair nodded. Suddenly the door bell rang. 6:45. The blonde was early. Blair's heart lurched. Now that the time had come she was insanely nervous.

"That is her. Do I look okay?" Blair asked her maid before she could stop herself.

"You look more than okay." Dorota said taking her, a knowing twinkle forming in her eye.

"I am sure you and Miss Serena will look beautiful together." the maid continued conveying her blessings to Blair in a round about way. The brunette smiled at her maid and pulled her into an unexpected hug.

"Thank you Dorota. You are so good to me." Blair whispered. Dorota was the most motherly figured she had in her life.

"Now you wait here. Compose yourself. I will get Miss Serena." Dorota said pulling away, though Blair could see that the maid's eyes were glossy with unshed tears. Blair watched her maid disappear as she took deep calming breathes. Blair slipped on her black Jimmy Choo's heels and looked at herself in the mirror once more. She picked up a headband from the dresser considering it for a moment. Decidedly she put it down then with a practiced air of confidence she strode out of her bedroom to Serena.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Serena anxiously waited at Blair's front door. She was feeling rather nervous about the date. She just wanted everything to be perfect. Her long blonde hair was down in curls and she had meticulously applied smokey eye make up. She glanced down past her brown jacket at her cream color dress that hit her knees. It had a black belt adorned with flowers that accentuated her waist. The neckline of the dress was a vee cut, revealing some of her tanned cleavage. She had arrived earlier then necessary, recalling how Blair would complain that Nate was always late to pick her up or meet her out. Serena was Blair to know that she was different. That she would wait on the brunette. Suddenly the door opened and Serena snapped her head up to see Dorota eyeballing her.

"Miss Serena come in." Dorota said with an unusual formality. Serena raised an eyebrow but otherwise followed the maid inside. She walked into the living room to wait for Blair but found Dorota still hovering.

"Sit." the Polish woman directed. Serena did so immediately startled by her strange behavior.

"Miss Blair will be right down. You take care of her." Dorota said in her thick accent. Serena nodded.

"Of course." Serena said confused.

"Miss Blair needs a good suitor. No more heart break." Dorota lectured the blonde. Serena's jaw dropped momentarily. She had not been expecting that. Then again it did not surprise her that the maid had figured it out since Serena guess that the small girl had not told anyone. Dorota knew Blair almost as well as she did. It was heart warming to know that Dorota cared for Blair so much that she was giving her the talk.

"Blair is my heart." Serena told the older woman who immediately warmed to the blonde once again.

"You are a good, strong person to look after Miss Blair. You are beautiful together." Dorota finally consented, nodding with approval.

"Serena you are early." Blair said as she appeared in the hallway. Serena eyes easily found the brunette and she was immediately  awe struck with her beauty. All of her nerves vanished at the sight of her girlfriend. The small girl was still the same wonderful best friend that she always had. And there was no reason to think that the evening would not be flawless. She jumped into a standing position like a soldier called to attention.

"Blair, you are gorgeous." Serena managed to say as she continued to gape at her girlfriend.

"You are too." Blair blushed as her eyes wandered over Serena's frame. The blonde walked over to Blair and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek, knowing that Blair would not appreciate anything else with Dorota present.

"Are you ready to go?" Serena asked eager for it to just be the two of them.

"Yes, my coat and purse are in the foyer." Blair said. The couple moved into the entrance and Serena helped Blair into her black peacoat. Blair grabbed her Chanel clutch off the table before turning to Dorota who was still hovering.

"Goodnight Dorota." Blair smiled as Serena lead her out the door.

"Goodnight Miss Blair." the two girls heard as they left the penthouse.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"The River Cafe?" Blair smiled at Serena's choice of restaurant. The girl was certainly good with romance. She imagined that Serena would have reserved a secluded corner table with a perfect view of the skyline.

"Nope." Serena said to the brunette's surprise.

"Then?" Blair asked throughly confused. Serena did not say anything. Instead, she simply took the brunette's hand and led her down to a dock. Blair halted as she realized where the blonde was taking her. Serena had charted a yacht for their first date. Sure she had been on plenty of yachts but no one had ever taken her on a date to one and Blair found it exceedingly charming.

"Oh S..." Blair said in a hushed tone. The luxurious boat was decorated with white Christmas light and absolutely glowed on the glittering surface of the water. Blair corrected herself. Serena was not good with romance. She was the best.

"We did not just come to look at it B." Serena said smiling. Blair smiled back as the taller girl helped her onto the boat. It was too cold on the water to eat outside so the girls were lead into the cabin. As beautiful as it was on the outside, it was more beautiful on the inside. The room was decorated with dark wood and white pristine linens. The table was lit with soft candle light giving the room even more romance and music softly played completing the atmosphere. Serena pulled out Blair's chair for her before she went to her own seat.

"Serena this is wonderful." Blair said.

"Only the best for my girl." Serena said like their was no other way. Blair felt that familiar rush of joy that she got when Serena said particularly sweet things or touched her.

"I like being your girl." Blair confessed with a small smile.

"I like it too... You know Dorota, I think she knows." Serena said delicately.

"I know." Blair smiled taking a sip of water.

"Oh?" Serena asked mildly surprised that Blair was not having a melt down.

"Yeah, she said we are beautiful together." Blair said quietly, thankful that Dorota had approved. Her maid had been her primary care giver since she was 4 years old. The Polish woman was an important part of her life and her acceptance was just as important as her mothers. In fact, Dorota was more like a mother to her than Eleanor ever was. But still, blood is thicker than water and family was important to Blair which was why she was so afraid to tell her mother.

"She said that to me too. That and you needed a good suitor." Serena smiled at the wording Dorota had used. Blair laughed.

"Did she? And you passed the test?" Blair asked.

"I don't know. You tell me." Serena asked. The brunette leaned back and put her finger to her lips as if she were deep in thought.

"Picked me up early. Candle lit dinner, on a yacht. Pulled out my chair... I would say you got a perfect score." Blair said.

"I am glad you are enjoying yourself." Serena grinned.

"Of course I am, I am with you." Blair stated and it was true. Even when she was still angry at Serena, she still preferred the blonde's company to anyone else's. Something, at the time, she had been unwilling to admit even to herself.

The waiter then brought out the appetizer and their meal began. The two girls talked and laughed as they were served the different courses. Blair could not remember ever having a better date. The couple was enveloped in their own world, drifting out at sea. They enjoyed their own private view of the city which shined on the shore line. Time was seemingly suspended as they were wrapped up in each other's presence. The courses were comprised of Blair's favorite foods and for the finale a decadent chocolate souffle for dessert. Blair was even more amazed with Serena then before.

"Serena dinner was excellent." Blair complimented.

"I just chose the courses. Believe me. I had nothing to do with the cooking." Serena said as they shared a smile, both of them knowing that the blonde did not know the different between a blender and a toaster. Then, the song changed to something a little more up tempo, Sway sung by Michael Buble.

"I love this song." Blair smiled as the man crooned about swaying on the dance floor.

"Dance with me." Serena said offering her hand. Blair only nodded as the two girls rose from the table. Blair giggled with delight as the two girls twirled and spun around an open area provided. Blair loved to dance. And she was good at it. It was something she could do and forget about the pressures of life. She could just let go and dance. Then the song switched again and a slower melody drifted through the air.

We watch the season pull up its on stage
And catch the last weekend of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced.
Another sun soaked season fades away

Serena pulled Blair close to her, firmly holding onto her small waist. Blair placed her arms around Serena' s neck and rested her head on the blonde's shoulder. Their bodies conformed to each other as if only the other girl fit there.

You have stolen my heart
You have stolen my heart

"I can hardly believe I am here with you." Blair said in awe. She felt like it was a surreal dream too good to be true. And yet her she was on an expensive yacht having been wined and dined, now slowly swaying in Serena's arms.

"Me neither. I mean, who knew?" Serena said into the brunette's hair.

Invitations only grant farewells
Crash the best one of the best ones
Cleat liquor and cloudy eyes
Too early to say goodnight

"Who knew what?" Blair asked.

You have stolen my heart
You have stolen my heart

"That the love of my life has been right under my nose this whole time." Serena confessed. Blair felt emotion well up in her eyes. She pulled back just enough to look up into the blue eyes that were looking at her with such love.

And from the ballroom floor, we are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation
Ours dreams assured and we all will sleep well
Sleep well, sleep well, sleep well, sleep well

"S, I love you so much. You will always have my heart. No matter what." Blair proclaimed a solitary tear falling down her cheek. Her heart ached even thinking about not being with Serena. The blonde brushed away the tear.

"No tears. You are too beautiful for tears. I will never leave you again." Serena whispered gently placing a kiss on Blair's forehead.

You have stolen, you have stolen
You have stolen my heart

Blair had to kiss her girlfriend. The brunette tip toed upward so that their lips could meet. Her lips passionately moved over Serena's until the blonde's tongue ventured out meeting with hers. Their tongues dueled for dominance as they caressed one another.

I watched you spin around in your highest heels
You are the best one of the best ones
And we all look like we feel

Eventually Serena tightened her hold on the brunette's waist and then with little effort, picked her up off the ground and spun her around. Blair rested her forehead against Serena's and giggled with delight.

You have stolen, you have stolen
You have stolen my heart

"God, I love you so much." Serena said briefly brushing her lips against the brunette's

"Mmm, do you think it will always be this good." Blair asked looking only at Serena's blue eyes. She could stare into them forever and always find something different about them. A nuance of green, a fleck of gold.

"No." Serena said seriously, "It will only get better."

"Do you know how perfect you are?" Blair asked a large smile forming on her face. Serena shook her head returning the smile.

"How about we go and have some fun?" Serena said. Blair raised an eyebrow curiously but nodded looking forward to what else the tall blonde had in store.

Blair had been so focused on Serena that she had not noticed that the land was drawing nearer. The yacht docked and Serena whisked her off to a limo. Blair watched as her surroundings transformed into the Lower East Side. The car eventually pulled up to the 205 Club. There was a long line of people waiting to get into the club. All of them looked very much like the bridge and tunnel crowd to the brunette. Blair could feel the pulsating music from the car.

"You are taking me to a seedy night club?" Blair asked doubtfully.

"Trust me. Okay?" Serena smiled at the small brunette. Blair nodded still feeling slightly dubious as to why they were there. Leaving their coats in the car, Serena first stepped out of the car then turned offering her hand to petite girl. Blair gladly accepted and she allowed herself to be pulled from the vehicle. Instead of going to the back of the line, Serena led her straight to the entrance. For a moment Blair did not think that they would be able to get into the club. They were only 17 after all. But Serena flashed her winning smile and flipped her golden her and the bouncer lifted the velvet rope giving them access. Then Blair remembered the perks of being gorgeous and rich. The world was their oyster. Blair smirked at the loud complaints of the others who had been waiting in line as they quickly by passed them. The interior of the club was surprisingly cool. It was like something out of the the movie Factory Girl. Blair approved.

"What do you think?" Serena asked nervously.

"Groovy." Blair smiled. She realized why the blonde had taken her to this club. There were plenty of other more prestigious clubs for her to be taken too but here they were out of their neighborhood. Surrounded by people they did not know and who did not know them. They would probably never see these people again. They could enjoy themselves without having to worry about running into someone they knew or have to concerned with a scathing report from Gossip Girl. They were hiding in plain sight.

"Come on. I want to see those hips swing." Serena said huskily into Blair's ear as she took her further into the club to the dance floor. Blair shivered as Serena's tone sent a wave of pleasure down her spine. The girls picked a spot in the throngs of people who were already drunkly grinding the night away. Serena slid her hand across Blair's fabric clad torso as the brunette's body began to sway to the thumping beat of the music. The blonde's hand came to rest on Blair's hip as she pulled them close together. The brunette conformed to the body behind her as their bodies moved together. Blair looped an arm around the blonde's neck, burying her hand into the blonde mane as Serena ran her hands up and down the brunette's sides. Serena indulged herself and placed light kisses on Blair's neck which was developing a thin layer of sweat as their bodies heated up.

"Hot Blair?" Serena asked in a teasing manner as she gently bit her neck. Blair nodded. Then spun herself around so they were facing each other. Serena almost gasped at how sexy Blair looked. Her hair was coming loose as a few damp curls hung around her face in a perfectly disheveled way. Her face slightly flushed. Her eyes burning with desire. The brunette let her lips hover near Serena's for a moment before dancing out of Serena's reach, running her own hands over where Serena's once had been.

"Mmm, maybe I just need some space." Blair said mischievously. Serena smiled she should have known better than to mess with Blair, after all, the blonde was the first to admit she was whipped. Before she could pull her girl back to her, a sleazy man with greased hair came up to Blair and started dancing on her. Serena glared at the slime-ball, her protective instinct kicking in.

"Ew!" Blair said in disgust as stopped dancing.

"Come on sexy momma!" the man said displaying more horrific dance moves.

"She is not interested." Serena said pulling her girlfriend back to her.

"Hey no need to grab. We can share." the man said grabbing Blair's wrist. Serena saw the look of repulsion that crossed the beautiful girl's face.

"No we can't perv." Blair said shaking her wrist free and slipping her arms around the taller girl's neck.

"Don't be like that..." the man said thrusting his pelvis in their direction.

"Gross. You heard the lady, go share your STD with someone else." Serena snapped possessively holding Blair at the waist. The man acted shocked but dejectedly slinked back through the crowd to find some other vulnerable girl to molest.

"Commoners." Blair joked as she began dancing again. But the blonde was still angry and did not respond.

"He had no business touching you." Serena growled practically, holding Blair tighter to her.

"Hey, I am here with you. Only you." Blair looked up into Serena's blue eyes hoping her brown ones conveyed the love and devotion she had for the blonde. It seemed to appease the taller girl as she relaxed and began to move with the brunette once again. They
spent the rest of the night draped around one another like expensive silk, dancing until Blair thought she could not stand anymore.

"Take me home?" Blair smiled up at the blonde who only nodded and pulled out her cell to call the driver. It was almost 2 a.m. and exhaustion was taking hold. The two girls exited the club, the cool night air feeling refreshing on their warmed bodies. They quickly got into the car, finally being able to relax, their muscles protesting any movement. Blair curled up next to Serena resting her head on the blonde's bronzed shoulder.

"That was fantastic S." Blair sighed.

"I am glad you had fun." Serena stroked the brunette's hair and kissed her forehead.

"Mm, I love when you do that." Blair purred.

"Do what?" Serena asked.

"Kiss my forehead." Blair explained.

"Well I love to do it." Serena said placing more kisses there causing Blair to giggle. The car arrived at Blair's apartment and the two girls got out and made their way up to the penthouse.

"I don't think I can take one more step." Blair laughed, leaning heavily against the wall as the elevator reached the top.

"Then you will not have to." Serena smile impishly as she scooped up the petite brunette. Blair laughed as the blonde carried her to the front door where she set her down carefully.

"Thank you." Blair said then kissing the blonde's cheek.

"Anytime." Serena murmured. There was a beat in between as they looked deeply into each others' eyes and then their lips were attached in a passionate kiss. The kiss held a new fire, a new desire, a hunger for one another. Serena clutched at the brunette's waist as Blair's hands got lost in her blonde locks tugging rougher than before. Soon, they girls parted, panting due to lack of oxygen.

"Stay..." Blair said after a moment.

"Are you sure?" Serena asked. The dancing had only add to the sexual tension between the couple and Serena knew it was very close to boiling over but she wanted to respect the brunette. Blair nodded as she looked into Serena's eyes, her own burning with desire. Serena had never seen Blair's eyes so dark. Breaking eye contact the brunette placed her lips next to the blonde's ear.

"I want you." Blair rasped sexily. Those three words tipped the blonde over the edge. Serena quickly reclaimed the brunette's red lips. She dipped her head lower kissing along Blair's neck. The brunette fumbled with the key a moment before opening the door and pulling them inside. All exhaustion was forgotten as they clumsily made their way up the stairs and down the hall unable to stop kissing each other.

Finally in the confines of Blair's room, Serena slowed down. She ran her fingers softly over Blair's bare arms. Blair leaned into the blonde's taller frame slowly kissing her lightly perfumed neck. Serena gasped as the petite girl gently sucked on her pulse point. Serena gingerly found the zipper on Blair back and slowly slid it down. The blonde pushed at fabric until the dress fell to the floor at Blair's feet leaving here in only black lacy underwear. Serena gaped at her girlfriend's naked form. She had seen the brunette in plenty of stages of undress but having her stand there with the desire flaming in her eyes was the most sensual thing she had seen.

"You are beautiful." Serena said as she began caressing the brunette's porcelain skin feeling Blair shake slightly. Blair reached behind the blonde finding her zipper and pulled it down. Then slipped the straps off Serena's shoulders so that her dress fell to the floor as well. Blair then tried to remove Serena's cream-colored, strapless bra but was trembling slightly making it difficult. Serena reached around and put a calming hand over Blair's helping her remove the garment. Now it was Blair's turn to be awed by Serena's beautiful toned body. Blair kissed the blonde again pushing her back slightly until they reached the edge of the bed. Serena fell back onto it bring the petite brunette along with her. Serena moaned as their bodies came into full contact for the first time. Blair arched into the blonde seeking more contact feeling like she were in heaven.

Serena soon flipped the brunette over so that she was hovering above her. Blair gasped and whimpered as Serena touched her. The blonde ran her hands over the pale expanse of Blair's stomach then sliding then up so they cupped the brunette's breasts her thumbs brushing over the peaks causing Blair to shiver. Serena lowered her lips onto one of Blair's pert nipples sucking on it gently then alternating between scraping her teeth over it and lapping at it with her tongue. Serena treated the other breast them same before slipping her hands down and removing Blair's small underwear. She began to caress Blair's silky inner thigh as the brunette arched into the touch. Serena tentatively ran her fingers through Blair wetness making her moan. As soft as Blair was everywhere else she was infinitely softer there.

"Is this okay?" Serena asked wanting make sure Blair was not having second thoughts as she explored the smooth lips.

"Yessss, please Serena." Blair moaned her body humming with pleasure. The brunette lips sought Serena's which she gladly gave as she continued to stroke Blair. The brunette gasped as Serena found her clit and began circling around it.

"Please, I need you inside." Blair finally rasped out. Serena kissed Blair's neck as her hand traveled to Blair's entrance. Then she slowly inserted a finger into the moaning brunette, then another. Serena started her a slow steady pace. Taking her time, reveling in the feeling of touching Blair so intimately. She increased her speed as Blair hips began to thrust more urgently into her hand. Serena was only aware of the brunette underneath her, whimpering and grasping at her. Serena moved her thumb so it brushed over Blair's most sensitive area. Then she curled her fingers pushing deeper brunette searching for her spot. This pushed Blair over the edge as she climaxed bucking into Serena's hand.

"S." the single letter echoed through the room. Serena held the the brunette tightly until she stopped quaking. After Blair had stilled completely, she pulled her hand away. Blair collapsed against Serena breathing heavily as the blonde ran her fingers through her hair. After a moment, Serena felt the brunette kissing her neck. Then the lips were moving lower down her chest and between the swell of her breast. Serena groaned with pleasure as Blair's mouth finally found her breasts. Serena purred as Blair teased her nipples with her tongue.  Blair moved on down leaving trails of kisses down Serena's tanned stomach and removing the matching underwear that belong with her bra.

The petite brunette settled herself between Serena's toned thighs. Blair kissed her way up Serena's thighs painstakingly slow only to switch thighs when she reached the top. Finally Blair dipped her tongue into the moist folds. Moving unbearable slow and yet maddeningly exciting at the same time. Blair lapped at Serena's lower lips alternating between long, slow strokes and then short fast ones. Serena moved her hips against the brunette's mouth, extremely turned on by the sight of her girlfriend between her legs. The petite girl then placed her tongue at the blonde's entrance pausing there a moment before plunging in with her tongue. Serena found herself a panting mess as she orgasmed around Blair's tongue.

"Blair, baby. Yessss." Serena exclaimed into the room, then pulled the brunette up to her so she could kiss Blair. The two kiss tenderly before Blair settled against Serena, placing her  head on her normal spot at the nape of the blonde's neck. Both lay exhausted, and sated, basking in the aftermath of their love making. Their bodies completely relaxed.

"God, I love you so much." Serena cooed to her lover, caressing her bare back.

"I love you too." Blair said into the column of Serena's neck, her voice laden with sleep. The blonde sat up slightly to pull the duvet over there naked bodies. Then settled back down her arms around the petite girl. Blair's arm fell across the blonde's torso and entangled her legs into the blonde's longer ones. Blair never wanted to be anywhere else except there so close to Serena, where she could listen to Serena's steady heart beat.

"I hear your heart beat." Blair mumbled as her eyelids drooped.

"It beats for you." Serena whispered. Blair whimpered lightly and tried to get closer to blonde. No matter how much space was between them, even if there was none, Blair felt as though she could not get close enough to the blonde.

"I love you S." Blair said fighting to stay conscious and losing.

"I love you B." Serena said, kissing the brunette's forehead. She could feel her girlfriend grow heavier as she fell asleep. Serena let herself drift off to sleep as well knowing she held her love safe in her arms.

Blair thought her heart was going to burst from her chest as she listened to Serena confess her love to her. At first she thought she was dreaming. It was too good to be true. And yet here she stood, shivering in the rain, unable to wake up. For a moment she was speechless. All she could do was watch her heart breakingly beautiful best friend looked at her with such devotion and fear. She memorized everything about the moment to cherish it forever.

"You can go now. You can run. I understand." Serena said sadly. Her watery blue eyes turning downcast as if the brunette had already been gone. But that was the complete opposite of what Blair wanted to do. Blair wanted to run into Serena's arms and never leave them. She wanted to kiss her best friend and never have to kiss anyone else again. The petite girl heard the pain in the blonde's voice which was all it took to snap her out of her stupor. She checked back into reality and began moving toward Serena. Blair stopped just and inch short of actually touching Serena. It would have been so easy to push up on her toes and plant a kiss on the taller girl's perfect pink lips. But she hesitated, wanting to tell the blonde how she felt first.

"I love you too." was all Blair could manage to say still feeling very overwhelmed with emotion. Blair saw a light, a happiness spark in Serena's eyes. The next thing she knew she was in Serena's grasp, then the blonde's lips were on hers and they were sharing a desperately, perfect kiss. The brunette found herself entangling her hands into the blonde, wet locks increasing the pressure of the kiss. Serena ran her tongue along the bottom of Blair's lip causing a jolt of pleasure to shoot down her stomach. Blair eagerly opened her mouth granting the blonde access to her mouth. Their tongues danced with each other making Blair moan softly with satisfaction. Serena held her waist tighter as if she were not close enough even though there was virtually no space in between the girls. Blair could have stayed there forever, kissing her best friend. But she knew it was getting late and they should be getting out of the park. She regrettably pulled away from the blonde. For a moment they stared, smiling at each other. The tears had cleared as well as the rain which was lightly sprinkling now.

"S, we should go..." Blair said, the taller girl resting her forehead on her own. The blonde nodded but stay put. As they stood in the park catching their breath, both girls were reluctant to move for fear of breaking the dream that had just been fulfilled.

"Let's go to my place." Serena finally said. The girls gathered their shoes and left the still darkness of the park and into the bustling reality of the city.

Blair waited impatiently on the bed for Serena to finish up in the bathroom. The two girls had gotten back to The Palace without saying much to each other. Upon their arrival, Serena found some of Blair's pajama pants that she had left there from one of their numerous sleep overs and gave her The Ramones shirt she had wore when the Chuck incident had first happened. Blair changed into the dry clothes in Serena's bathroom and also fixed her make up which had run from the rain. Serena had gone to a guest bathroom to change and was taking longer than the brunette would like. The petite girl figured that they still had some things to talk about. Plus she was antsy to have the blonde near once again. Serena entered the room looking gorgeous in her striped boxer shorts and Brown sweater. She appeared nervous.

"Hey." Serena smiled goofily trying to mask her nerves.

"Hey." Blair greeted smiling shyly as the blonde made her way to the bed. Serena sat next to Blair tucking a stray lock of slightly damp hair behind the brunette's ear. She brushed the pad of her thumb across the petite girl's cheeks and Blair leaning into the touch sighing contently. Serena brought their lips together in a chaste kiss as she cupped the brunette's face as if to make sure she could still kiss the brunette.

"We should talk..." Blair stated when they parted. The blonde nodded slowly, eyeing the small girl carefully to make sure she was not perturbed or upset.

"What about?" Serena asked taking the brunette's hand and giving her full attention.

"Well... what are we doing?" Blair asked softly.

"... I am not sure what you mean." Serena said confused.

"I mean are we dating? Kissing? I cannot handle it if it is just kissing. I don't want to see you with Aaron, or Dan, or any other guy. I want to do this right. I want all of you. I will not settle for only half anymore." Blair demanded, rambling slightly.

"Whoa, whoa. Calm down sweetie. I want to do this right too. I want you to be my girlfriend. I want to take you out to dinner and movies and charity events. I want to buy you flowers and necklaces. And I will not stand for you dating Chuck or Nate. I just want it to be us." Serena reassured her placing a kiss on Blair's knuckles.

"Girlfriend?" Blair smiled slowly taking in everything Serena had said.

"Girlfriend." Serena nodded. Blair launched herself forward practically tackling the blonde as Serena lost her balance and fell onto her back, the smaller girl settling on top of her. Serena was laughing before Blair's lips found hers. The kiss lacked the desperate passion of the one they shared in the park. Not that it was a bad thing Blair realized. It was slow and loving as their tongues caressed and explored the softness they found there. Serena took hold of Blair's waist and flipped them on their sides so they were situated on the pillows, never breaking the kiss. Eventually they pulled apart. Blair thought she was going to cry with the way Serena was looking at her. No one ever look at her like that, so much adoration and sincerity. Blair delicately ran her finger across the blonde's lip with wonder.

"What are you thinking?" Serena asked seeing some turmoil brewing in the dark brown eyes.

"I am afraid." Blair said her voice unusually small.

"Of what?" Serena asked starting to rub soothing circles on the brunette's back. Blair found a place to hide burrowed in the nape of Serena's neck. She breathed in deep being lulled by the smell that was purely Serena. She very much liked this place. But she knew the  blonde was patiently waiting for an answer.

"Of losing you." Blair said her voice breaking slightly as her emotions got the better of her.

"Hey, hey, I am not going anywhere. I promise, I will never leave you." Serena said adamantly hold Blair just a little tighter. She was already overwhelmed with guilt that she had left once and she was not planning on doing it ever again.

"I know. But we can't control everything. You are my best friend S. What if we do break up and lose that? Or what if people start finding out and we cannot take the scrutiny? Or what if one of our mothers find out and we get shipped off to boarding school? I just cannot have you ripped out from underneath me again." Blair said with all of these worst case scenarios popping up in her head.

"There are risks in every relationship B. I promise you will always be my best friend no matter what. Don't we deserve a chance to be happy? You can't not have something because you are afraid to lose it." Serena whispered.

"You are so wonderful." Blair said in awe as her head cleared. She looked into the blue pools of Serena's eyes and melted. At that moment, she felt as though nothing could keep them apart.

"Let's just go slow and take things as they come." Serena said placing a soft kiss on Blair's forehead. Blair flushed with joy as Serena did so. No one ever acted so sweetly to her. Not even Nate when they were dating kissed her on the forehead. In her mind, it was insanely romantic.

"Are you hungry?" Serena asked a second later. They had spent so much time in the park they had not gotten a chance to eat.

"A little... but I don't want to move." Blair said. She was far to comfortable to be dislodged from Serena's arms to bother with a little bit of hunger. Serena nodded in understanding.

"Okay. It is getting late anyways." Serena said yawning but making a mental note to make sure that Blair had a good breakfast.

"Mhmm." Blair mumbled as she became drowsy, her eyes fluttering shut.

"Good night B." Serena breathed.

" 'Night S." Blair sighed.

"I love you." Serena proclaimed softly. It felt so good to finally be able to say those words to Blair.

"I love you too." Blair said before slipping further into oblivion. And they were as equal wonder too hear in return.

I think I will just drink my Gamsol and end it all... or maybe not. It would be a waste of hair dye. I dyed it PURPLE. I am pleased. I am sure none of you care about this lol.

I Need You So Much Closer: Chapter 8

  • Oct. 1st, 2009 at 7:20 PM

Serena and Blair went to the Central Park Zoo and ate ice cream cones on a bench. The brunette obviously got chocolate. Then they spent the rest of their afternoon wandering around and enjoying the foreign animals that inhabited the zoo. Serena loved to watch the childlike wonder in Blair's as they walked through the zoo. What Serena loved even more was the fact that Blair would not stop grasping her larger hand. At times, the blonde would look at their hands entwined. She took note on how Blair's small hand seemed to fit perfectly into hers. Time flew and soon the sun was setting as the zoo ranger came through ushering everyone out as closing time descended.

"I liked the otters the best." Blair said swinging their hands as they meandered about the numerous walking paths.

"I know. You always like the otters the best." Serena laughed lightly. The aquatic mammal had been the brunette's favorite since they were children. It was always a challenge to get the brunette to move onto the next exhibit.

"Yeah well, I know what I like." Blair smirked.

"Oh yeah? What else do you like?" Serena asked.

"Chocolate. Shopping, cats, dancing, um... sunsets." Blair said as she pulled the blonde into a gazebo that overlooked a lake facing into the west were the sun was falling below the horizon. The sky was an assortment of soft pinks and oranges giving way to a deep purple flecked with stars. Serena could not recall a more beautiful sunset or was it because she had not taken the time in a while to enjoy one or was it because of her beautiful companion.

"I also like you." Blair said a little quieter. Serena was a little stunned by that.

"I like you too B." was all she could manage to say. She found staring into endless brown eyes. She could just lean down and there lips would brush but Serena pulled away.

"It looks like rain." Serena changed the subject looking to the east. A cool breeze was coming from the direction as well as some ominous clouds.

"Yeah." Blair agreed sounding vaguely disappointed.

"Want to go back to my place and order Chinese?" Serena asked. She would very much like to have Blair in her bed again, in a completely platonic way, of course.

"Sounds good, I want to finish watching this." Blair said dreamily looking at the fading sun.

"Okay" Serena smiled watching Blair fondly. The two girls sat in the gazebo talking until the dark had taken over and for some time after talking about everything and nothing. It seemed like they could be in that moment forever, away from the rest of the world. Perfectly preserved in the night air.

"Today was such a perfect day. I am glad I spent it with you." Blair said shyly.

"Okay Lou Reed." Serena teased.

"Shut up." Blair said swatting Serena's arm lightly.

"I'm sorry. My day was perfect too." Serena said honestly. There was a pause. Serena held her breath. She could tell Blair now. She could let the those three word, and eight letters slip from her lips and she would be free from her secret. As much as she did not want to ruin the relationship she had reestablished with the small girl, she knew she could never truly be happy until Blair was hers completely. Or at least try her damnedest.

"B..." Serena began but a flash from the sky diverted her attention. Perking up she realized the the wind was picking up, the clouds had moved in and were not looming over head.

"Looks like the rain is here." Blair said as a low rumble sounded through the night.

"Yeah, we should get going I suppose." Serena said disappointed that her moment slipped away.

"I suppose." Blair mimicked but before they could leave the safety of the gazebo the rain suddenly began to fall.

"Well shit." the blonde laughed. Blair giggled with her as they watched the rain pour. Serena was suddenly struck with an idea.

"You know... We have gone through all of your favorites today. Shopping, chocolate, otters, sunsets." Serena said in a deliberate manner.

"That is true all that is missing is cats and dancing." Blair said sounding curious.

"Well let's fix part of that." Serena said. Blair watched her questioningly as the blonde slipped out of her boots. Serena smiled at the brunette as she stepped into the wet grass, almost instantly becoming soaked.

"Serena!" Blair exclaimed in shock. Serena simply extended her hand to the brunette.

"Dance with me." she practically whispered. Blair took a moment to respond but eventually a small smile appeared on her face as she stepped out of her flats and put her hand into Serena's. She bust out laughing as the blonde spun her in the rain. The rain was surprisingly warm as the best friends twirled in the rain. Serena could not take her eyes off the brunette. Her was darker and sexily clung to her face. Her dress stuck to her small frame leaving little to the imagination. Blair's eye make up smudged as the rain ran down her cheeks. It reminded Serena of the tears she shed which prompted her to attempt to wipe them away. The blonde noticed how Blair shivered when she touched her.

"Are you cold?" Serena asked. Blair only has to slightly nod and the the seizes the opportunity to pull the brunette close, wrapping her arms around the slender waist in front of her. Serena felt two arms snake around her neck and a head rest on her shoulder. The blonde thought her heart was going to burst with joy as they swayed in the rain with Blair humming a nameless tune for them to dance to. The petite girl had a beautiful singing voice. Serena constantly was telling her she should share it with the world but Blair stubbornly refused. Despite the brunette's confident exterior, she was terribly shy.

"Thank you... for today." Blair smiled up at the the blonde. Serena could not hold it in anymore as she looked down into the trusting eyes of her best friend. She could not lie anymore.

"Don't thank me yet." Serena smiled at her sadly.

"What do you mean?" Blair asked confused.

"Blair... I have something... to confess." Serena said nervously.

"You can tell me anything S. You know that." Blair said as she halted their movements.

"Blair you are so important to me. I do not want to lose you. Promise me that you will not push me away after I tell you." Serena asked her voice cracking slightly. Was that the rain that was stinging her eyes or were those tears?

"Serena you are scaring me a little." Blair said becoming nervous and stepping out of Serena's arms.

"Just promise me." Serena whispered. The brunette nodded.

"I promise." Blair whispered.

"Blair I have recently developed these... feelings. And it is going to be shocking to say the least..." Serena started before stopping short not sure what she wanted to say next.

"S, please. You are killing me with this." Blair said frustrated.

"I know. It is just... I am scared too." Serena admitted.

"Serena, we will get through this. Whatever it is we will through it together. I mean... look how far we have come." Blair said softly as she grasped the blonde's hand. The two girls stood in the rain at the brink of the moment that could change there lives forever.

"You know how Aaron and I broke up?" Serena asked.

"You said you guys got into a fight and broke up." Blair nodded.

"Well I left out a detail... The fight, our argument. It was... about you." Serena disclosed. Blair's brow wrinkled with confusion.

"Wait. What does that mean?" Blair said shaking her head.

"He really wanted me to go to South America. When you called, I had to be there for you. I could not leave you like that. He pretty made me choose between you and him." Serena explained.

"S, I am sorry he turned out to be such a jerk." Blair sympathized.

"That is just it." Serena began to pace. "I didn't, don't care. I realized that it would always be you. Aaron was everything I should have wanted in a boyfriend but I still wanted to leave him. I was going through all these boys and I was never really happy. But with you I am always happy." Serena said.

"I am always happy with you too." Blair smiled.

"But it is more than that. B... I love you." Serena stopped in front of the brunette. Blair looked shocked a moment but quickly shook out of it.

"I love you too S." she said. Serena could tell the meaning had escaped the brunette.

"No. B. You are smart and funny and lovely and so damn sexy. I am deepy, unequivocally in love with you." Serena proclaimed her love for her best friend as she finally gave way to tears. Serena's heart sunk as she watched the brown-eyed girl simply gape at her. She could not tell if the brunette was crying or not on account of the rain.

"You can go now. You can run. I understand." Serena said defeated as her tears still fell. But to Serena's surprise, Blair stayed. Serena's eyes followed the brunette as she closed her mouth and slowly walked so that she stood within an inch of the blonde. Serena's heart began to race as Blair's lips hovered next to hers.

"I love you too." Blair whispered with all her heart. Serena could not take the proximity anymore. She grabbed Blair's hips so that their bodies were pressed tightly together. Serena leaned down and desperately kissed the brunette. Blair kissed back with equal fervor as her hands began entangled in the blonde's long hair. Serena ran her tongue across the smaller girl's soft bottom lip seeking entrance into her mouth. Blair gladly opened her mouth as there tongues caressed one another. Serena thought that the brunette tasted like strawberries. She thought her skin was impossibly smooth. Everything about Blair was intoxicating. Serena never felt more elated than in that moment. She was finally complete as she let her thoughts go and got lost in the kiss.
